Tacky or brilliant? You judge, a white R8 on bright orange HRE wheels from Wheelsboutique

Wheelsboutique usually shows off some very get looking wheel setups. This one is definitely not our cup of tea. We understand wanting to stand out and be different but there is a point where something just becomes to ostentatious and tacky. The R8 is a beautiful and refined luxury sports car. Taking an example in white with black sideblades and completely destroying the color scheme it has going for it with bright orange wheels is not the best way to compliment it. We would expect to see this on a Honda or at some import show featuring cheap JDM cars before we would ever expect it on an R8.
It's different, sure, but not for the right reasons. This will likely appeal to a younger crowd (
like the people who actually liked rapper Tyga's R8) but that is the exact crowd that lacks the sophistication to modify a high end German car in a classy manner. HRE P40SC wheels are an absolutely fantastic choice for this car but a darker finish would exude far more class and sophisticated. This just screams looks at me.
