      The Audi R8 V8 really is not all that fast of a car for the money. It's beautiful, but straightline speed is not its forte with a DCT M3 being faster stock for stock as well as a Carrera S even with a smaller motor with six cylinders to the R8's eight. The 1M pulls the R8 from a roll easily in the first race but it looks like the R8 got on it late. In the second run the R8 gets a slight lead only for the 1M to bridge the gap. The cars are close but with the 20 inch HRE's on the R8 and power going to all four wheels it is begging for boost to show what it is truly capable of.

        Poor R8, that guy must be cutting himself at home. When I beat the convertible r8 v8 that guy didnt want to look over at me at all. He was just embarrassed haha.

        Same when I smackd an R8 down, felt great. If I had an R8 that thing would have turbos ASAP.

        The R8 did much better from a lower speed roll... Sounded just plain awesome IMO, I would like to know if the M lifted on the last run or if the R8 pulled back on it own. Either way great runs, I'd still take the R8 for the look and sound

        I think they we're already in sixth gear, so they would be going quite fast, so the hood was being lifted by all the air...That would maybe also explain why the M fell back after getting side to side with the audi, since at least the JB4, limits the boost to stock or almost stock level when in sixth gear i think. It limits the boost or the meth flow, not really sure.

        the last part of the video showing the speedo on the r8 was moving awfuly slow in the top end. wierd

        Looked like it wasn't properly closed all the way to me.

        It was closed. I think it was caused by the AFE scoops I took them off and put the stock air box back in with a panel filter and we are going to try it again. The second race I gave the R8 a head start.

        No. He came back a bit on the 5-6 shift and let off. We have run a few times the 1M keeps pulling away. The owner of the R8 is a friend of mine.

        R8 sounds glorious. It's not so slow when you consider it's racing a FBO 1M and pulls it. You can tell the 1M falls on it's face in the high RPM's vs the R8 which just keeps screaming. The R8 V8 is such a drivers car, adequate, not enough, plenty of power (whatever your opinion is) won't be so relevant when you get behind the wheel and drive it fast

        This is true and there really is no debate over which is the better car. The R8 has a far better chassis, design, motor, you name it. It just needs a little boost Click here to enlarge

        I've seen other cars have the hood lift like that at high speeds. That looks like alligator alley. I recognize that GTR from the track Friday night. It's quick...

        My family friend owns this Porsche + Audi shop that i've helped him with in Atlanta and we put an APR Superchager on a customer's RS4 and he wants to do his R8.
        Would be heaven to have a pullied + meth R8 and a twin screw. The RS4 was pretty nuts for stock motor, stock manifolds.

        VF-Engineering has a positive displacement SC for the R8 although their pricing is absolutely absurd considering it is just the RS4 kit adapted for the R8.

        But yes, twin screw on the R8 is absolutely awesome.

        I must Admit the R8 is indeed beautiful car but was VERY dissapointed when I saw it run the 1/2 mile run in Puerto Rico I ran 129.68 and the Audi R8 posted 127.85 . Although I have the RENNtech flash the Audi for its price is NOT WORTH it for me. Here is the link for those of you that want to see it :
