Edoardo Mortara (Playboy Audi A5 DTM), 1st place: "After the best time in yesterday’s qualifying, my first victory today – that’s a very special moment for me. But for Audi, too, this is a great moment in the new DTM era. And for Team Rosberg it’s fantastic also. I can hardly find words for this wonderful situation. After a few difficult weekends I wouldn’t have necessarily expected to win. You always try and give your best and today we achieved the maximum.”
Martin Tomczyk (car number 1, BMW Team RMG, 4th): “On the one hand I am pleased with fourth place. On the other, however, I could have achieved an even better grid position. Unfortunately I made a slight mistake in the first corner of my flying lap in Q4. That cost me crucial fractions of a second. Whatever happens, I proved again today just how competitive our car is. Congratulations to Joey Hand. I am delighted he was able to show what he is capable of today. Thanks to BMW Team RMG. We have been in great shape here so far.”
Gary Paffett (THOMAS SABO Mercedes AMG C-Coupé), Third: "Before the race, we had planned on securing as many points as possible from Spielberg in the championship standings and we were quite successful in that we achieved a podium finish. The race was really exciting – of course, my final position could have been better, but that's racing. I have extended my lead in the championship and that\'s what counts. The scraps today were sometimes quite tough going and by the end of the race, my radiator was totally clogged up with grass. Nevertheless, I am very pleased with my four podium finishes in the first four races of 2012 – a first-class start to the season."
