That is a lot of coin for relatively small gains. The GT2 RS just seems to have very aggressive software out of the factory putting down 594 horses to the wheels on the AWE-Tuning Mustang Dyno. They only gain 8 horses at the wheels with the exhaust and software although there are substantial torque gains through the curve. The thing is they come at 3400 rpm and the gains are minimized toward redline.
The Level II package gains much more earlier as the headers seem to help with the turbo spool. We do not see very impressive gains until 100 octane fuel and race software is used at which point peak figures rise to 640 wheel horsepower and torque gains are 87 pound-feet at the wheels. The Level II package definitely seems to be worth the extra money of the Level I. There seems to be an error on the Level II graph which shows the stock torque at 503 to the wheels whereas the Level I graph shows it at 561. An honest mistake or designed to exaggerate to gains? With AWE-Tuning's reputation, we would say simply some sort of error on the graph and nothing shady going on.
For the amount of money here and the gains it simply makes more sense for one to get a standard 997 GT2 and tune that saving considerable money and having basically the same power. Those who want more out of their GT2 RS though will likely look into this as money likely is no object.
