      The Mercedes SLR is a very fast car with its supercharged M155 5.4 liter V8 putting out 615 horsepower. The car is capable of low 11's stock with trap speeds just under 130. The SLR is a bit dated now though and the Aventador is the new kid on the block sporting a 690 horsepower 6.5 liter V12 putting power to all four wheels and a sequential gearbox making shifts in the 50 millisecond range. We are still getting a feel for how fast the Aventador is and although this is only an 1/8 mile race that is over pretty quickly the Lambo is able to pull the SLR pretty quickly. If the race went a full 1/4 mile, it would have been ugly for the Benz. The Aventador definitely is fast.

        I didn't see $#@!. Just heard Launch control revving, Some crappy Mercedes squealing its tires then I heard what resembled about 5 electric cars fly by.

        The video could not have been any more clear, I don't know what you're talking about. I'm surprised by how quick the SLR is despite only having a 5 speed auto. What a monster, but the Aventador is clearly faster.

        FACT: SLR had a bad launch. Smaring of the tires for 5 second wont do you any good in any race.

        you cant compromise that the Avantedor is quicker than the SLR from this video

        Aventador is a full generation ahead, SLR still held on to dear life though gotta give it credit.

        I gather the Aventador is faster and there are also other vids against stout competition where the Aventador runs away. It's the faster car man.

        you could be right, but in this video the SLR had a bad launch.

        I wonder how the Aventador would do against the SLR 722 GTClick here to enlarge ...

        Yea that doesnt even sound like a production flagship car, never even heard of that car before.
