      Hot damn! Mercedes is simply doing a hell of a job with their concepts. Much in the same vein as the A-Class concept the Concept Style Coupe gives us a preview of the CLC. The design is gorgeous and we wish this exact same design would carry over to the production version. Unfortunately, just like the A-Class it will not but we are hoping that just like the A-Class the final production model does not lose too much in translation.

      Expect the powertrain choices to mirror what is available in the A and B Class platforms. That means an M271 based turbo direct injected 1.8 liter four cylinder for the base CLC250 and a 340+ horsepower 2.0 liter version of that motor for the CLC25 AMG which may also feature all wheel drive. This is going to be a great new volume model for Mercedes that has the potential to be one of their best drivers cars as well as the most accessible to the general population. Too bad it can't look exactly like what we see here.

        Yes, there is a bright future for this smaller Merc.
        At the introduction it will be equipped with a 211hp 2 liter direct injection turbo engine, coupled to a 7G-DCT transmission with double clutch.
        This car will have 4-wheel drive.
        Mercedes calls the design " allmost production ready".
        I say, let them make it just like it is now.

        I don't see why it would not be the current 1.8 liter.

        Dunno. This is what the first press report said.
        Later on they did not mention any deplacement numbers...
        It could very well be the 1.8, considdering the power output numbers.

        It likely has to be the 1.8 unless that motor will get a quick upgrade which I don't see happening. The 2.0 is supposed to be the AMG version. We'll see what they do.
