• Weistec releases their tune for the M157 bi-turbo 5.5 liter V8 in 63 AMG models - +149 wheel horsepower for $2950

      Weistec Engineering has released their M157 tune for Mercedes 63 AMG vehicles. The tune adds an incredible 149 wheel horsepower and 193 wheel torque. These gains come on 91 octane and to this point nobody has shown more horsepower on 91 octane pump gas tune only on the M157 platform. In addition to the horsepower gains the top speed limiter is removed, throttle maps are changed for better response, and boost, fuel, and spark are all adjusted.       This tune is available for standard M157 vehicles or for those with the optional Performance Package. Gains with the Performance Package are less at 106 wheel horsepower due to the tune being more aggressive from the factory.

        Ugh, same glitch as last time with the Renntech article that eliminated posts.

        Looks like we need a software upgrade.

        For sure with a better exhaust design...but $3000 for a tune only ???? Seems pretty steep...

        Yeah for sure. But I mean is there really that much more programming than the M156 tune ? Seems like just different parameters....I dunno. New AMG tax I guess lol

        Compare it to the performace package and it is a hp per dollar bargain.

        For sure but all bargains come with a trade off...in this case its the warranty. But I do agree, strictly on paper....the tune is undeniably the way to go with this new motor. I'm going to the dealer tomorrow to test drive the new ML63. Might be a shakeup in my car lineup as this dealer also has a C63BS with track pkg coming soon Click here to enlarge

        With what this motor does with just a tune I think it's difficult to not want to pick up that SUV. Would love to trade my Cayenne in for one...

        Most power we have seen on 91 octane, it's insane.

        Yup I'm thinking the same - plus the AWD drive will make it unbeatable off the line. I can't wait to see the salesman's face when I put it in dyno mode for the test drive LOL. Too bad they are not offering this M157 motor in anything that even comes close to a sports car...

        The new SL is still pretty heavy but it is the closest thing.

        Nice dyno gains.

        Would love to see some 1/4 mile times with this tune.

        That would be some solid proof that the dyno numbers actually translate to the pavement.

        With how they presented dyno numbers previously and how they correlated to track times I think we can realistically expect a large real world improvement over stock.

        Read somewhere that they're going to make a M157 G63 too. That thing will be bananas.

        Me too but the M157 is just getting warmed up. Patience guys, this will be a 9 second motor before we know it.
