NOPE - NOT with this car. It gets road raced frequently and the FI generates too much heat and its not proven to be faster yet. Right now there are MHP N/A cars that are running as fast as the Weistec cars. I believe that Weistec builds great products and I'm hoping the tranny build solves my hardware problems. Weistec will be a GREAT compliment to the already proven MHP cars.

What data do you have to support the claim that the Weistec blower generates too much heat for road racing ? Or, are you just making a general statement about blowers ? And the MHP cars that you say run as fast as the Weistec cars....are these MHP cars using spray to be as fast as the Wesitec cars ? If so, that is useless on a road course.

I'm sure the Weistec trans upgrades will solve all your problems. Funny though that you still have these problems with the MHP claims of "COMPLETE driveline tuning". Seems it's not really "complete" or else you wouldn't have to turn to Weistec for something that MHP claimed couldn't be done.

As a general rule FI motors generate a huge amount of heat unless cooled with ice etc.... and thats extra weight and will melt before a 30 minute session is complete. Its also extra weight that sloshes(not just fixed weight) that really upsets a road race car. I can already hang with some of the best road racers out there and that was before cams. Some expert drivers like Sharif from Forged Performance have driven the car and said its already fast enough and just needs more suspension work and tires and we are taking care of both of those issues.

MHP said they tuned some of the aspects of the transmission. They never claimed to build up the hardware portion of it. Even Weistec knows that the stock tranny will not hold additional power without upgraded hardware so thats a mute point.

The car that is running 10.6's is N/A, not spray. Mine ran 10.8 on motor only in the Florida heat at +DA. As far as I know the fastest Weistec car is in the 10.6 range. Please understand I believe Weistec is a great product and will be proven in time. However, for my use I will stay N/A with this car.

Keith - thanks for taking the time to respond. I simply wanted to know where your head is at now that you've pretty much done about all there is to do short of FI. I happen to agree with you about FI in regards to road courses as that is where my Black Series spends most of it's time. If I was only focused on straight line speed/quarter mile, the Weistec blower would be a no brainer.
Regarding the transmission and what it can take...I believe Jim and Earl were both running stock transmissions with Stage 2 blowers and only since they decided to go nuts have they had to start beefing up the trans. I think many have underrated the stoutness of the 722.9 due to the conservative claims made by AMG. From what I've been told by Jim, I think you will really like your new trans and it will allow you to put all that power to the ground and almost assuredly break into the 9's. As I've said before....no small feat from a driver perspective so congrats again.

LZH - Thank you for the kind words. Its been a long time coming but I believe we have the power to put down a 9 second pass but the driveline has been the issue. I'm just glad and very appreciative that Weistec has given us an option. Otherwise, it would be a crap shoot as to when, where, or ever I could run that illusive 9 second pass. Once its run, I will sell the car believe it or not. Its a beautiful car and one of a kind, but I, like many others have ADD/ADHD to the worst extent and its time to start on something new. I love this car but like you said, its about complete and can be used to 1/4 mile race, road race with the best of them, go to car shows, or take to wife to dinner. All with about an hour worth of time to make adjustments. Best part about this car!!

With all due respect, running with the SC cars is only due to nitrous so they are not NA but using a power adder.

No, the cars I am referring to were not running nitrous. Mike's(Dodger63) car ran 10.6xx and I ran 10.80 and both were N/A with no power adders.

It's simply impossible for the NA cars to match the supercharged cars without a power adder.

The trans was already holding back the SC cars. Just watch what happens, this is the natural progression.

That's why I said we are running with them now. When they run faster times then we'll all see it and accept it and they will potentially hold the record and that's great. Until then we are running similar times. I'm not trying to argue with you. Just stating what the facts are right now.

I understand where we are but it also is fairly obvious where we will be. 6.2 liters of displacement and and auto trans with weight reduction to the trans masks it a bit.

And what are the Wesitec cars running ? I honestly haven't seen any real passes made - especially in C63's.

A Weistec Satge +1 C63 would murder a full Bolt-on NA MHP C63 even when runing with cams. Both runinng without light weight mods. a SC stage 1+ will absoloutely kill the MHP car. no doubt about it.

the only reason Dodger63 made a 10.66 was due to his race tune and light weight mods.

when comparing quarter mile ET, they would seem similar to Weistec run in Las Vegas (which was in a really bad condition). a roll on race from lets say 40-60mph, The supercharged car will humiliate the NA engine, sorry.

I have seen and driven a supercharged M156. It is completely a diffrent car. Quarter mile is great, but dont stick with what you see, because Weistec have not done many passes for us yet.
Stag+1 has been proven on the dyno to range between 550-600 RWHP depending on the type of mods and about 560 ft/lb of torque at the wheel. you will never see those numbers on a NA C63. Therefore, saying they run similar to MHP cars when weistec have not even run thier cars at a good track yet is way offline.

The best comparison would be to bring both cars at the same time, condition and place. I'll gurantee you 10 times out 10 the Weistec Stage 1+ will come put on top. No question people

In due time Weistec will prove themselves and all these discussions will be a mute point. Let them do what they do and we'll keep racing. This thread was originally a congrats for a new record 1/4 mile time and when a Weistec produced car runs a faster one(and I believe they will) then we will all congratulate them and be excited for them.

Have you got any concerns with traction due to the faster shifts? If the gears bang in it might cost you some time if you break traction?

We are running full on Hoosier slicks screwed to 15" rims so hopefully not.
