      Renntech keeps slowly but surely pushing the platform forward. They were the first to runs 10's, first to crack the 600 whp barrier, and now the first to crack the 130 MPH barrier in the 1/4 mile. The new fastest M157 record is 131 miles per hour. Keep in mind, this is before Renntech's latest round of mods have pushed the M157 motor to 627 wheel horsepower. It is safe to say this record will be surpassed fairly quickly as well.         Amazing. Now just bigger turbos and tis thing should easily hit 10.5

        I think this video alone proves how bad ass the new TT AMG motors are... I doubt the new M5 will be able to do this as easily, it's partially a displacement issue. The new V8 in the M5 is just too small.

        So sick how it's in a CLS too, not even meant to really be a monster at the track.

        Nobody as cracked the ECU besides Gpower, you can't really set conclusions just yet. Look at the n54 with stock turbo's putting over 400 whp. Thew new m5 will be able to push 600 whp with stock turbo for sure.

        I don't know... it's difficult to say at this point. As much as I love BMWs they have made some poor decisions recently none of which satisfy enthusiasts like Mercedes with their AMG lines does. The first killer for BMW was the usage of any EPS system for steering, the second was not taking the time to create proper M engines instead of just re branding regular motors. I absolutely love turbo motors, unfortunately BMW with the exception of the N54 can't seem to do it right. The N55, N20 so don't show too bright of a future and the S63 is a rework of the N63. If the new M3 makes similar key mistakes, then I am sadly gone from BMW for good.

        It can't hurt that the M157 has a full+ liter of displacement over the M5.
