Here it is, pictures and video of the new 2013 Mercedes A-Class - AMG Sport package model watering down the AMG brand?

Well the luxury hatchback market just heated up considerably. Audi
just revealed their new A3 ahead of the public Geneva showing and Mercedes decided to do the same with their new A-Class. We think the A-Class has the better exterior design with great and aggressive body work but the A3 has the better interior. If you are wondering what those red accents are on the car that stick out like a sore thumb they are part of the AMG Sport package. We are disappointed to see Mercedes watering down the AMG name much in the same manner as BMW is doing with M.
The AMG Sport package offers red trim on the AMG style front and rear aprons (isn't this a bit ricer for Mercedes?) as well as a sport tuned suspension. Additionally, the calipers are painted to match the trim and 18 inch wheels are offered.
The vehicle is available in front and all wheel drive as well as both with manual and dual clutch transmissions. It is not certain if both transmissions will be available in the USA. The new 1.8 liter M271 turbocharged four cylinder is a certainty for the US market though. Check out the pictures and video below.
