      Presenting Electric Motor Werks or EMW (creative play on BMW, right?) E46 electric conversion kit. This electric conversion kit that Electric Motor Werks is working on is supposed to offer a 0-60 time of less than 6 seconds, 120+ mph top speed, and a recharge time of 1 hour all with a range of over 100 miles. Those are some bold claims but if true this sure seems a heck of a lot better than BMW's own electric vehicle.

      EMW thus far has completed their first and second E46 prototypes. These are some bold claims to be making without a kit available for sale and no measured performance numbers to substantiate the claims:

      We hope they are able to come to market with a reliable, affordable, and superior performing electric solution that puts BMW's own to shame. However, can a company with no track record really beat some of the best engineers in the world with far greater resources at their disposal? Time will tell.

        Umm... no thanks.

        It would be cool to make an electric Lotus Super 7 though, maybe.

        And, once again, it's only clean if the electricity used for charging is 100% from solar, geothermal, wind or hydropower.

        What would make this even more exciting is if they had solar panels on the roof... THUS extending the driving range...

        This would so work on the X5... But I'm not willing to do it... at least not until Gas gets to start costing $15 a gallon

        FUGLY... I'd rather have the model though to the right...

        You could convert any car to that EMW ( you just don't have to give it such and ugly and mis-matched paint job), Leave it stock looking, its what under the hood that counts... Not what it looks like on the outside...

        Standard model s does it in almost 6 seconds. I got to sit in one couple weeks back in Vegas it was on display.... Its okay, nothing great lots of screens though.

        Too funny.. looks identical to the M3 I saw broken down across the street from my house last week. Parked in the back of the church parking lot.
