      S63 twin turbo V8 owners now have another downpipe options courtesy of Akrapovic. The piece itself is made out of stainless steel and is catless. No additional details were supplied. We would like to at the very least know the cost and claimed power gains. A dyno would definitely be warranted as well. Akrapovic makes quality exhaust pieces but without further details it makes for a very weak product unveiling. Akrapovic pieces tend to be expensive so do not expect this to be a value in S63 tuning.

        Probably won't be worth the gain at their price. I'll bet they are somewhere in the $1500 range.

        will it be possible to install them without dropping the motor?

        Those gains seem to be referring to the rear section and not the downpipes.

        I couldn't tell from the article whether they were referring to the cat-back or the entire exhaust system when providing the gains.

        Don't know about the X5 or X6 but I can't imagine you'd need to drop the motor. On the 5 series it is very simple to get them in an out.

        This will be great to reduce heat soak, a common problem in the N54, and i'd imagine in the TT S63 with all that weight

        Some more info but nothing for just the downpipes by themselves:

        The Evolution system with optional downpipe (example with tuned engine):

        Stainless steel downpipe set
        Titanium link pipe set with resonators
        Titanium X-pipe
        Titanium muffler with integrated exhaust valves
        Hard facts:

        Plus 61 HP (at 4,700 rpm)
        Plus 114 Nm / 84 lbs-ft of torque (at 3,800 rpm)
        28 kg / 62 lbs. lighter than stock

        Has anyone installed these- is there any drone? How's the sound? I have Akrapovic cat back now on 2012 x6m and am considering getting the Downpipes but am worried about drone from the cat delete. Any input would be appreciated.

        Don't know anyone here running these but you can be confident with Akrapovoic quality.

        I'm looking at running the akrapovic DP but my dinan tune isnt comparable. The shop recommended renntech tune as they will add the cat delete to their tune. Claiming 650 Hp with renntech and exhaust. Anyone have experience with renntech? Im not crazy about having to ship ecu for flash.

        Nothing wrong with having to ship the ECU.

        Yes, Renntech will do a custom tune for you and for your DP's. You can be very confident with their work, stellar reputation.
