      We have seen the Renntech M157 twin turbo V8 tune evolve in a very impressive manner over the past few months. Recently, the Stage I tune on a CLS63 AMG ran a 11.3@125 at the strip. Renntech claims 0-60 of 3.4 seconds which is just incredible for a heavy vehicle like the CLS. Crank ratings are 669 horsepower and 734 pound-feet of torque. We will have a Renntech M157 dyno comparison up later in the week.

        Much cheaper than the performance package for greater gains...

        Good point, but doesnt the performance package come with other goodies? Also isnt the boost almost identical to the performance package? Also I havent seen any numbers from a "Stock" performance package on the track so more data would be good if you have it.

        Boost is almost the same which is all the more impressive IMO. Yes, I have more data which will come later in the week. I have to space updates out so we have a continual stream of content.

        Cool. I wasnt sure. Its worth the $$ for sure except the warranty aspect of course.

        The HP gains are amazing over what the performance package offers. I just wonder what the PP does in the 1/4 on drags as well to compare the two packages.

        That is where research comes in. I'm the kind of person who won't pay $3k for something I can get for $1k.

        Ok but how does that apply here? If you know a tune for $1k that is as good as this one with proven results let us know. That statement was made in response to paying markup for a tune available for cheaper somewhere else. You can't get the Renntech tune cheaper anywhere else.

        1/4 mile times for the PP have been listed. They are gaining roughly 3-4 MPH on the PP, impressive.

        It applies because Renntech is known to be quite more expensive than most competitor tunes. Renntech charges 3K for a C63 tune and we all know we can get a C63 tune that is just as good if not better than that for 1/3 the price. Even MHP is down to $1995 with the middle man markup. So while this tune from Renntech has great results, I'm sure another tuner will have it for less soon. So "I'm the kind of person who won't pay $3k for something I can get for $1k." applies perfectly to me. We just don't have the 1K tune yet available, but it will come. It doesn't apply if you want the tune today, ill concede to that. But we shall see what is to come. Click here to enlarge

        Quite impressive. Ill have to do more digging. If I dont sell my C63 by the end of December ill be getting the 12 CLS63 anyhow so well see what kinda data and options are around then.


        Props to Renntech on the amazing time with their tune thought and I think for being first. It made my decision to move to the 5.5 platform easy.

        They aren't cheap but they are also quality. The difference is I was speaking about paying more for the same thing. Direct from Renntech is the cheapest price for Renntech products. Right?         With the way things are these days I am all for a quality product I can trust with good customer service. So that extra cash buys that its worth it.

        Epic run today with the 2012 Cls63 non perf pack. Nice car I sat inside sweet. Exhaust note not as loud as my C63. Anyway did two runs. 40-130 I got him 1/2 car. He backed off. Too bad I wanted to see up higher.
