      Renntech is branching out to other markets from their traditional Mercedes tuning and they have several ECU tunes now available for BMW vehicles. The Renntech 335 diesel tune puts down an impressive 311 horsepower to the wheels along with a tremendous 432 wheel torque. The ECU has to be sent in for the flash unless one is local. A 24 month warranty is also included in the $1100 price. This tune should be applicable to the X5 diesel as well in the United States.

        I believe the E90 335d was available in the US market in MY2009. No manual transmission available. Have heard the stock torque is really nice. See them frequently around where I live. This seems like a good download with a warranty.

        I think you are right! BMW released efficient dynamics diesels engines M73N2 sequential turbo BlueTec. The USA was introduced in 2009 for models E90 335d sedan & E70 X5 xDrive 35d till now. The only available transmission it's the steptronic transmissions 6spd.

        Nice gains. That must be fun to drive around with all that monster torque. It's too bad they don't offer a way of flashing the car yourself and more power like some other tuners may provide, especially at that price.Regardless, I would love to drive around in a tuned 335d and get close to 40mpg on the highway, hehe.

        For a few years now, Evolve Automotive has been providing their "Evolve Switch" for the Diesel BMW Engines with what looks to be great success. It seems like it's more popular in Europe, but part of that might be because Evolve hasn't really marketed it much here in the States yet. I remember seeing a magazine that featured an Evolve tuned 335d and they compared it to a stock 335d and performance increase was very drastic! The dynos I've come across showed about +60hp and even more torque. Sorry I don't recall the torque numbers right now. I don't recall how much it costs, but I think it may be around what RENNTech advertises.

        Whether one gets the RENNTech or Evolve tune, I can't imagine how much fun this would be to drive.

        I don't know if the "Evolve Switch" for this 335D applies in the USA. I haven't seen it, this ECU may have to be sent in.

        Oh interesting, I'm not to sure. If I get a chance to some time this week, I'll contact the guys at Evolve to clarify.

        I just went onto ESS Tuning website as well and looks like they advertise a Direct Flash for the 335d price around $1200.

        I'll keep you posted if I get a chance to chat with Evolve.

        The USA Diesels are very different from the Euro 335d. The USA we got the Bluetec system & I don't think Euro/Asia market have the same since my last trip to Germany.

        I'm confused. A stock 335d is 265hp and 425 tq. Seems like the renntech is in line at 311hp, but the tq figure is actually lower at 423. How is this possible?
