Dude the shorty headers bolt on to the OE system. Translation just so even jbond can understand: the OE cats are not removed and not even moved to another spot and therefore legal. I could make you even a drawing but don't have the time.

You do not know what the customer paid for these "custom" headers so please don't talk about things you don't know to true or not. Cost and Product are clearly stated on the receipt of over $30,000 in total modifications. You didn't pay the bill and haven't seen the invoice nor know the situation (the months of the customer trying to get RENNTECH to do something about their product), however you are sporting a RENNTECH built car aren't you?

You don't know a thing about this customer or this situation so please stop trying to be RENNTECH's liaison and just look at the facts presented. Customer wanted maximum performance from RENNTECH and had an open wallet so why on earth would they give him revised manifolds vs actual longtubes? There is no legitimate answer. Same goes for not repairing them.

I'm going to PM you the customer's number so you can see how far off your assumptions are.



So how does this effect the 63s? Being that the 55Ks have a blower and create a ton more underhood heat how is this even relevant? It's not. Being that you have Longtubes are you worried about your motor mounts?

You've already speculated and did your best to spin the situation around for RENNTECH however once you call the customer you're going to have an entirely different perspective. Just remember to post what he says after you speak with him.

Also this last statement is actually the furthest thing from the truth possible. They did the exact opposite of what you're saying telling him they were custom one off and stainless cracks when it's welded. Pretty pathetic IMO.

You can't picture it, because you are clearly misinformed. A farm is not a ranch. Ranches are used for hunting, relaxing, possibly raising cattle. Most Texans with ranches have them as second homes. That being said, one of my buddies is a farmer down here and he just got rid of his G55 AMG. 3 of the guys I work with all own both Benz's and ranches as well.

You can picture all Texans with American pickup trucks and wranglers if you'd like, but that's ignorant and inaccurate.

Maybe you did NOT read my post correctly..... I stated that we don't know all the details (and all the sides) to this story yet. So let me present my suggestion again: RENNtech sells those headers for about $3k.... everybody knows that price. It's on their website, on their mailer, and pretty much everywhere else they advertise. Now consider this: if the customer requested "custom" long-tube headers (meaning not the standard one they sell for $3k) then he would've received (at least) different looking headers (regardless of material/build quality). The fact that he received those headers tells me that either the "extra" $5k were charged for something else or maybe they did double bill him for the same headers in which case, we'll try to get RENNtech to make it right for him.

RENNtech doesn't (and never have) focused on "maximum performance".... their products are less aggressive but pro reliability, durability, etc.... I think you know that more than most. Also, if they've fixed headers and have taken care of customers for a very long time, why wouldn't they do it for this one? All I'm suggesting is we find out what happened so we can actually help him, so stop being a "liaison" for MHP (sorry, I had to... ).

Relax, I am sure there are many Ranchers / Farmers in Texas and other states that are very wealthy and sure like their toys including Mercedes (especially a G55) and other nice things this world has to offer. Absolutely no disrespect here, quite the opposite.
What i tried to bring across here is that in this particular case it sounds very much made up and probably is. (is that better?)

AMG4V..... please don't pre-judge the customer. Lets wait and find out the truth and hear both sides of the story before we make any accusations. Maybe the customer is telling the truth and he did get screwed by RENNtech? Maybe not? Who knows....

I will talk to the customer personally and will post the truth (un-biased) for you guys to decide. I will also try to help him resolve this.

No, you read what you wanted to read out of mine. You don't know either side, I know one. The side I've heard matches up with what I've been shown. I don't really care what's on the site or mailer, I know what the customer asked for, was promised, and what he paid for it. You can ask RENNTECH why when he asked for performance longtubes to make the car as fast as possible they stuck him with those logs. I'll tell you right now you will have zero progress on the RENNTECH front. Customer exhausted all possibility by asking RENNTECH to help him over and over again and they refused every time.

You are like RENNTECHs mouthpiece on the forums, anytime there is an issue you post in their defense without knowing either side of the story. In this instance instead of posting a presumptuous rant why not PM me for further info so you can investigate further? That's what you should have done instead of mindlessly guessing as to why this customer has been shut out customer service wise.

Liaison for MHP? That's funny. I post a pic comparing a legitimately designed and priced header, then one that's the opposite, clearly not photoshopped (computer nerds eat your heart out) and tell the same story you will hear from the customer and shop whose info I sent you already. You immediately jump to RENNTECHs defense (per usual) about other people but have nothing to say about this case, the only one relevant right now.

Exenom, just sent you the shop owner's email addy as well. again though I'd call him as he will be able to verify faster that way and doesn't mind talking to strangers.
