      Boris, also known as djborya on the forums, has raised the bar again. He previously set overall the 60-130 in October 2010 being the first BMW to dip into the 4's for 60-130 runs. This record was later broken by Mert with a 4.49 60-130 earlier this year. We are happy to say that the bar has been raised once again and Boris has taken the record back with a 60-130 run of 4.2 seconds which was done during a 1/4 mile pass. Specs on the car are an E30 with an M3 widebody, built S52, and a gigantic 80 mm turbo among other things. Congratulations Boris!

        Wait so cars are supposed to be able to run the 1/4 mile and 60-130 too? Didnt know both could be done at the same time, and all this time I thought it was one or the other. Click here to enlarge

        Boris is doing this all the right way and taking records left and right. No reason a car has to do one or the other as he just proved.

        thats very impressive but I thought the correct way to measure 60-130 was from a rolling steady 60? Not trying to take anything away just a question.

        None of the fast cars measure this way, as far as I know. That would be a more useful measurement but people tend to start earlier in order to already be at maximum boost (in the case of a forced induction motor) by the time the clock starts ticking.

        Thanks for all of the great comments! In hopes of faster times i will say that i in the near future i will continue to try to beat my own record and Donovan Marvin's 9.26 Record to get to 8.** second 1/4mile with stock bmw transmission/differential/suspension. And that it has taken a great deal of time and money to get to this point...But to me it is worth every penny and every minute!

        stock zf 5 speed.No one in the word has done a 8 second pass with one even with a solid axle. the guys in europe have tried for many years.

        +1 I agree doing it from a 60mph roll to 130mph would give everyone a better idea of how a race would turn out doing a roll race from 60-130. Both ways are kool.

        I believe that most guys start a 60-130 timed run at 40 if I'm not mistaken so that they are at their optimal boost level when the time starts.
