      What is going on at BMW? This is an unsubstantiated rumor based on a magazine that got a hold of some internal BMW documents showing the M550 diesel. This would be the first ever diesel M car. As the X in the name on the document states, this would likely be an AWD diesel variant. Not all that surprising considering an all wheel drive M5 was already confirmed. This may be the car BMW was referring to when they stated the intention to produce an all wheel drive M5 model.

      The diesel engine would have less power than the M5 at around 400 but torque would be in the 553 pound-foot range. This would also be a tri-turbo 3.0 liter 6 cylinder motor. This motor may find its way into an X variant as well as the 7. It is also entirely possible that this will be the motor for the next generation M3. Things just keep getting wackier and wackier at BMW, eh?

        Nobody really has their info straight but this is getting interesting. 500+ hp diesel, really?
        I'm telling you right now, if this is real, the 335d goes away and I'm picking this up, no question.

        If this is real I would have a hard time avoiding it. Let's see what happens though before we get our hopes up. Too many numbers all over the place.

        Maybe but with a new tri-turbo motor and AWD diesel M car they better make one grand freaking entrance.

        @ Ronin & Sticky sadly to say the 335d WILL NOT be available on theF30 platform, its is given away the new X5/X6 and now the M5d or whatever you want to call it. Hopefully, BMWUSA and its idiocnetric will bring the 20d over here and add it to the new F30 platform. whatever way it goes I am gald I have the 335d on my hands
