      The first Audi TT-RS has been officially delivered in the USA. Fort Worth Audi had the honor of delivering the first car and it went to a veteran race car driver named Don Istook. It's nice to see that Audi did not overlook the United States with yet another RS model. They also announced that the RS5 will be coming the United States as well. That is all fine and dandy, but we were still short changed on the last RS6 and it looks like the same might happen with the B8 RS4. This is a step in the right direction but until Audi can roll out all of their models worldwide we still can not take them as seriously from an enthusiast's standpoint as we do Porsche and to a lesser extent Mercedes who manage to come through on almost all of their performance models.

      Istook stated about his TT-RS, “Having raced at almost every major track in the U.S. and Canada, I’ve pushed the limits in many cars in my 34 years as a race car driver. I like my street car to give me some of that thrill. With my new Audi TT RS, I not only get that thrill, but I also get that ‘race car’ sound.”

      With 360 horsepower for the USA (20 more than in previous markets) Audi at least gives us some more power in return for not delivering the DSG. As stated, a step in the right direction, but lack of other RS models and no DSG option means we are still getting shafted in the United States. Why?

        The sickest car by audi, $#@! the R8. Someone needs to drop in a big turbo in this thing already.

        It's a sick littler car, but the R8 is a whole different level.

        It's on a whole nother price level. This thing with a tune will be the same if not better than the v8 R8.. Personally I think the R8 is just for looks and luxury, its slow as hell. It's very appealing to the eye tho.

        I also love this car, specially the black ones. Too bad it doesn't come with DSG, that's a major let down right there.

        R8 + TT = different league.

        Yes, in price and performance. Part of the appeal.

        The 5 cyl block in the Audi TT-RS is made of vermicular-graphite cast iron that is falls between laminar and spheroidal iron and is apparently stronger and has better resistance to "thermal and mechanical stresses". And apparently less of it can be used to get the same strength as regular cast iron blocks.
        Compared to cast iron with spheroidal
        graphite, cast iron with vermicular
        graphite offers the following advantages:
        - Lower coefficient of thermal expansion
        - Higher heat conductivity
        - Lower modulus of elasticity
        - Lower thermally induced internal stress level
        - Better thermoshock resistance and lower tendency to distortion because of the aforementioned properties
        - Better damping capacity
        - Better pouring properties (shrinkage, mold-filling characteristics and fluidity)
        This thing is gonna be TOUGH!

        Let's hope the stock internals are too! And no stupid tuning problems..... *cough* BMW....

        Yes, I am the guy…the first to own the TT RS. I shot a video for AUDI last Thursday at Texas Motor Speedway. WOW! In my 34 years of auto racing, this was the finest “street car” that I have had on a race track. Yes, in all the photo ops, I was able to wring out a few hot laps (albeit with a very frightened sound man in the car). I currently race in World challenge where we use the Pirelli race tire…with that tire on the car, it would be a W/C contender right out of the box!! Though the engine revs quite nicely, the mid-range torque was making corner exit a dream...no need to get the engine into the upper band at mid corner and waste tires...plenty of pull...now, when we get our REVO software on the car...!!

        Hey, very cool! Welcome to AudiBoost.

        Looking forward to your results with the software, take it REVO is using your US car a development car? Software has to be different than the EURO's due to the HP bump.
