      Here is the facelifted Audi A5. Frankly, we didn't think the car needed a facelift but the results are impressive and keep the model fresh. The changes to the headlights should be apparent to everyone and the front and rear fascias are modified as well. The most important changes are that the S5 will ditch the 4.2 V8 in favor of the 3.0 TFSI supercharged V6 from the S4. Don't go get in a hurry to order, these changes are for Europe only for now and the lineup remains unchanged in the USA for at least the rest of the year. That also means the DSG trans in all the Quattro cars may not carry over.

        These changes are game changers for the A5/S5. Especially offering the SC 3.0 in the regular A5.

        Some important quotes:
        Each of the four TDI diesel and three TFSI gasoline units in the new engine lineup include forced induction and direct fuel injection.
        New to the Audi A5 lineup is the 3.0 TFSI, a supercharged V6 producing 200 kW (272 hp).
        A manual six-speed transmission and the continuously variable multitronic are available for models with front-wheel drive. The quattro models come with a manual transmission or the lightning-fast, seven-speed S tronic.(Dual Clutch)

        Well the A5,S5 is the Competitor to the E coupe. I think the E 550 is way ahead with the Twin Turbo V8 producing over 400 HP and the E350 has a 305 HP engine.

        I dont think Audi has a game changer at all.

        How is the A5 not a 3-series competitor? It starts at $36,900. People will cross shop these with the 328i/335i.

        Look at any comparison test done for A5 with any magazine. It is always put up against 3-series, G Infiniti, and IS Lexus.

        It is a game changer in the sense the A5 now has FI 6-cylinder. The 3.2 NA in the early A5 was very disappointing. Not saying it is better than any other car, it is now in the mix with these changes.

        It isn't a competitor to the 3 series directly. It is compared to the e92 because BMW doesn't have a coupe version of the 5 series.

        The S5 is a competitor to the E550

        A5 to the E350

        These compete with the 3 series to some extent but not directly. A5 and E coupe are a coupe versions of the A6 and E sedan


        Because of this BMW is making a 4 series coupe... essentially a 5 series coupe


        2 series coupe will take the place of the current 3 series coupe

        No. The 6 series is a high end coupe like the Jaguar XK.

        And the sedan version of the 6 series is the upcoming 6 Series Gran Coupe

        Well said and yes, the A5 is the substitute for the A4 in comparisons where it is 3 series coupe vs. Audi.

        Yes, that is how it is positioned. There is clearly some overlap but for the most part what was stated about the 3 vs. A5 and 6 vs. E is what makes sense.

        No, the 4 series is the coupe 3 and on that platform, not the 5.

        Even will be coupe odd will be sedan.
