I think it is, and in fact would prefer this over that over-priced E92 M3 "GTS". The CSL is over-priced as well and would need to be forced induction to keep up with a 1M with few mods.....

Do you have any idea how fast a CSL is? It runs a 7:50 on the Nurburgring - a 135i with a few mods is going to make up 25 seconds? 25 seconds!

The M3 CSL was also runs R Compounds doesn't it? I'm pretty sure if the 1M was running those type of tires, it's ring time would be much lower. Don't know about no 25 sec though, that's pretty big.

Giving the 1M a higher top speed and R compounds could definitively make it drop 25 seconds on the ring. Think about it the ring is more than 8 miles long... Think about all the straights in which it was stuck at 155 MPH.

You are right. 155mph limiter FTMFL.

Actually the.Ring is 13,7 miles long, and it has a few decent straights....

Walter Rohrl claims R compounds are good for 5 seconds. He is the king of the ring so to speak, I trust his opinion.

Hah, man, R compounds aren't going to drop it 25 seconds. 25 seconds is damn eternity, are you kidding?

Best case scenario is 10 seconds and I doubt even that. Here is the difference between a 997S on Michelin Pilot Sport cups and without:

And I would argue the majority of that difference is due to the PDK. 5 seconds is more realistic, like Walter Rohrl stated.

You are probably right Sticky. Just look at the new 2012 z06 ring time. It's 20 seconds faster than the old one. Probably got 10 seconds from the R-Compounds and 10 secs from the ZR1 suspension, if not more.
