      This is the commercial for Audi for the new R8 GT Spyder. In case you don't know what the R8 GT Spyder is, refer to our coverage here. Basically, this is a lightweight, higher performance, and limited edition R8 Spyder. Think of it as an Audi version of the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera. The commercial is pretty nice, as is the car obviously, but we can't help but think we would be more than content with the standard version plus some modifications for the price of this model.

        It's kinda like a fat Lambo with a weird face.

        If I had the money I think I'd honestly have more fun and be happier buying a TT-RS and modding it.

        Maybe. What is the price on one of these? I think some place estimated $176,000+. 3800lbs. Same 0-60 as the dual clutch auto TT-RS. That'S like $100,000 you could save or use to mod the TT-RS, which I'm sure would end up being just as or more fun to drive.

        Imagine a wide-body TT-RS with 305s all the way around and a reliable 800whp. Or more.....

        have you ever heard of throttle response? that car has it, how about handling ? that car has the best handling i've ever tried.
        Noise ? well you have 10 cylinders behind your head. Look ? It's ok, actually very ok.

        I'm sure TT-RS is a good car, but it's not even in R8's league.

        It will start base price over $200k. The coupe is 196k...

        Eh, I don't know, paying $200,000+ for throttle response and a high-revving V10 sound. NA motors are cool, but what are the actual performance figures? When you are in the seat driving your car at the very limit at a track or autocross, will that really equate to a car that is more fun than a TT-RS that you could put $130,000 into?

        Not saying it's a bad car, just doesn't seem like the best (most fun?) choice for that money unless you are absolutely in love with the idea of a convertible R8 and have to be one of those 333 people to get one.

        This is the main thing. It's a limited edition that people will gobble up.

        I would be happier with a twin turbo V8 R8 but that is me.
