      This is BMW engine modification on a whole different level. What you see is a hoverbike. No scienece fiction, the real thing. Twin rotors are framed around an 1170 cc BMW boxer motor that was sourced from an R1200 BMW bike. The hoverbike is made out of carbon fiber and weighs 231 pounds. Maximum takeoff weight is is 595 pounds with a calculated maximum altitude of 10,000 feet. Pricing is said to be aimed for the $40,000 range but clearly there is a lot to work out here before we can all start riding our hoverbikes to work. Specs and details below.

      Compression Ratio: 12.0:1
      Range: 92 miles at 92 mph
      Top Speed: 172 mph
      Ceiling: 10,000 feet
      Fuel capacity: 30 liters
      With secondary tank: 60 liters

        $$ 40k? Ill take it! it will pay for itself in gas saved from sitting in traffic- think about it, no lights, EVER, redlight? just go over top..

        Yes, seen it. But this bike is way cooler than that jetpack, should they ever get it to work properly

        ^bike is way cooler and more practical in terms of parking. I can't park a martin jetpack without worrying that someone might run off with an engine. This seems a bit more feasible with today's standards. I can totally see Starwars Ep I races coming up...

        You can even store / park it on it's side. Would hardly take any storage room.
