• Audi wins 2011 Le Mans despite setbacks - 10th victory since 2000

      This is going to be a special victory for Audi. A dramatic victory despite major setbacks in the race with two of their three LMP1 cars retiring after dramatic crashes. That left just one R18 TDI left for Audi but one is all they needed. This was the tightest Le Mans of recent memory with the #9 Peugeot 908 and the remaining Audi R18 battling it out to the last second. Peugeot did finish in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place and gave Audi all they could handle along with some questionable blocking. Congratulations to Audi but what is most important is that nobody was hurt in a dramatic race.

        13 seconds on Peugeot, but.they won!
        The only Audi left after 2 serious crashes, and exiting till the end!

        Peugeot had their chances but Audi clearly had the faster car. Incredible battle up until the end.

        For Audi to pull it out with only 1 car... incredible. I almost feel like going to France to see LeMans live.

        I think it would be an absolute blast. Will be impossible to top this years race though.

        I used to think it would be tough to watch a race for 24 hours but now I understand the spectacle a bit better.

        Man, too much motorsport stuff going on today. I need to get some sleep as well but had to stay up to make sure I got the Le Mans updates done.

        No kidding, this is starting to get difficult but it's ok. I'd rather just do it myself than pay someone in India to write updates for me.

        amazing race... Sticky did you stay up for all 24hrs of Le Mans? Pretty eventful 24hrs this year

        Great race, crazy wrecks.

        Normally it is Audi's reliability that gets them the victory, but this time they also were turing the quickest laps. Just a deadly combo.
