      A Mercedes-Benz AMG inside source has confirmed the M156 V8 in a higher state of tune will be used in the C63 AMG Black Series. MotorAuthority and InsideLine who reported they confirmed an M157 twin turbo V8 would be used were wrong. It would appear P31 or SLS forged engine internals will be standard. It will not be an M159 (SLS motor) but will likely share similarities such as the heads but not the SLS intake manifold or airboxes due to not being able to fit in the C engine bay. Base price is expected to be $100k.

        love it but seems just like a revised CLK Black Series...same hp pretty much, just different internals, new tranny, and updated gadgets...curious what the suspension differences are

        From a performance standpoint this is a mistake what would be the reason to pick this car over a 997 gt2? i cant think of one.

        Price, the 997 GT2 is still far more expensive.

        for the price i would go for a 2nd hand GT3, i don't care about warranty, warranty is just here to prevent you going nuts with mods.

        thats what i was thinking im looking at 2010 GT3's for $113,000 on OVE

        as much as i like the BLACK SERIES cars , $100k for 60 more horsepower than a regular c63 is a bit much for me . i paid right at $66 for mine brand new . i have about $10k in performance parts and install and i am making way more than 510 . i know this will be a limited edition vehicle but i can't justify the price for basically the same motor as we already have . they should have gone forced induction !

        well, ideally youre going to be paying for handling, style(bodykit) and exclusivity as well, not just 60 more hp.

        Guys this is OK. No need to worry about the price of this beast...let's just bide our time and pick em up CPO'd with low miles in a couple years and save ourselves 25% in depreciation :-)

        What a beautiful car. The more I look at the new Coupe the more it grows on me. That one looks very aggressive.

        I wish they put more power under the hood.
        P31 C63s are making close to the same power (assuming MB is not underrating the BS numbers)--hopefully the new BS will be much lighter than the sedan or coupe.

        I think the CLKBS was a better car for the time period it was released in, much more unique.
        Plus, AMG didn't release the CLK63 coupe here in the States, so the CLKBS was more rare and farther from it's next closest AMG brother.

        I think a C63 coupe w/ P31 may be very similar to the new BS, oh well such is life.
        I guess it would be silly to not make the leap up to the BS once they're in the $80s for a loaded C63 coupe, just my .02--unless of course the $20+K bump is not justified.
        Personally, I think MB should have not introduced the regular coupe C63 if they were going to produce the BS.

        I need the four doors so I won't be getting either one, I wonder if it will be a limited production like the CLKBS?
