      Mercedes continues to expand its lineup in a manner appealing to enthusiasts. The car has been given an internal development codename and is set to slot in around the $100,000 mark. It will be launching in 2014 and be powered a V8. We assume the M156 will be nearing the end of production if not out of production at that point which means it will likely be powered by an M157 twin turbo V8. The SLC is likely to share much of the drivetrain from the next generation SL. A big thumbs up to Mercedes for offering so many different performance options.

        I wish I had some kind of defense for BMW but I don't.

        Mercedes has the SLS, SL65 Black Series, CLK Black Series, upcoming C black series, SLR, and now an SLC. BMW has... front wheel drive electrics Click here to enlarge

        this is a badass little ride, i would buy one in a heartbeat. Looks like a beastly little SLS.

        That is what I am thinking, and if they give it a twin turbo V8... WHOA.

        The SLC looks very nice, I like it Click here to enlarge What I don't understand is that Mercedes already has the CLK63 BS and C63 Black Series to compete in the $100k to $120k range, so why add yet another one? :nix: They also have the SL63 which is in the $140k range, so it seems like they've covered up the price ranges very good.

        Those cars are based on vehicles starting at much lower price points. This car will enter the market in the $120k range and is aimed at the Carrera S. The cars you mentioned also are not dedicated 2 seat sports cars. This is a much higher level and a more focused vehicle.

        This will be lighter and more focused than either the SLS or SL.
