      This is unconfirmed as official but several sites are reporting that Mercedes intends to wind down the G-wagon production with a bang. Most details are coming from Autoblog.nl who reports a 600 horsepower version of the G-class with the M275 twin turbo V12 is coming. They also report that the price would be around $300,000 which makes absolutely no sense. Yes, a twin turbo V12 G-wagon is cool, but for $300k there are a lot of other things to purchase where that kind of money would be better spent. The price is likely off, if not the entire story.

        The g wagon has got to be the most rumored vehicle ever.
        There's always reports that it is ending, getting new engine, etc.
        This will probably be another one of those stories.

        I'd love to see it done.
        I've always been a fan of the G (especially in AMG clothes) but it is really a 3rd or 4th vehicle IMO.
        If I had the garage space and cash I would definitely add it to my stable, black of course!

        Great beach house vehicle or mtn retreat.
        The things are built so solid and I always have to play with one when I see one on the showroom floor.

        I would agree with this. Mercedes has been building it forever and likely will continue to do so.

        The rumored price makes no sense. The twin turbo V12 does make sense in that vehicle though....

        to the contrary, I never liked working on them. Always rusted to $#@!, poorly maintained, electrical problems out the mofo ass, and nothing but water leaks out the wazoo.

        I had a draw on one that kicked my ass for a week straight. Ended up being ONE wire on the front SAM that was corroded from all the water that somehow got in the battery box....it was grounding itself and keeping the module awake, causing the car to kill the battery overnight.

        I got paid 2 hours for my time..even with the dandy story I wrote and the 40+ hours of diagnosis and going down the chain of 'this works, move on, if it doesnt look at this and replace this'

        Ouch, I've heard similar stories from my friend working at a Benz dealer.

        But on another note, I always ask people what their dream car is, money no object, and guys give a wild variety of answers but I've only heard TWO answers from girls; G class or Range Rover so there's a reason they keep making these things. I think they're pretty sweet.

        Chicks love Range Rovers and G-wagons for some reason.

        Arabs would love it but a V12 G sounds stupid.
        overall G is the best available SUV, period.
