With the Mercedes-Benz CLS AMG Shooting Brake on the market Porsche for some reason feels the need to do the same sort of car with their Panamera. Why? Who knows, maybe the engineers and designers are bored or they just want to spend some of Volkwagen's wheelbarrows full of money. This likely will not be built but the purpose is to show what they could do and also preview next generation Porsche styling elements. ...Published on 09-25-2012 05:22 PM
The new 991 GT3 and 991 Turbo are right around the corner. Testing should pretty much be coming to an end as Porsche continues to display more and more of the bodywork for both cars not bothering with attempting to camouflage them. The GT3 reveals an aggressive front bumper with a center exit exhaust. The car looks very good and aggressive with the LED integrated front spoiler, wing, and center lock wheels. Expect 450-500 horsepower from a 3.8 liter with a PDK transmission. ...Published on 09-23-2012 11:14 AM
With the launch of the Range Rover Evoque coupe style two door SUV's are getting more and more and entering the mainstream. Porsche currently does not offer such a model and has toyed with the idea when the Macan (formally Pajun) entry level SUV slotted below the Cayenne was being discussed. Well British tuner Merdad Collection decided to do what Porsche did not and offer a Porsche SUV with two doors. ...Published on 09-22-2012 11:55 AM
We are pleased to announce our new Porsche/Volkswagen Audi Group (VAG) V3.5 Digital Lowering Module (DLM) which is designed to work with the latest VAG Air Suspensions. These updated Air Suspensions utilize newly developed factory control units and are found in several of the newer Porsche/Audi/Volkswagen group vehicles. As with the V3 VAG module, it requires no splicing or soldering. The RENNtech harness utilizes the factory pins as to allow a completely reversible installation and is compatible with the following list of vehicles: ...Published on 09-20-2012 10:50 AM
Hot on the heels of the leaked Porsche 918 Spyder brochure (which seems to have been intentional) Porsche has now revealed the Nurburgring laptime for the hybrid supercar. Porsche posted on their Facebook page that the laptime is 7 minutes and 14 seconds with the Weissach package (which cuts weight and offers lightweight magnesium wheels) on street legal tires. If anyone was doubting the potential of hybrid performance, this should change their minds as it is the real deal. ...Published on 09-19-2012 10:31 AM
Somehow the Porsche 918 Spyder brochure has leaked onto the internet and we are not complaining. Pages are missing but these were all that were e-mailed along with a few tidbits from an anonymous source. Curb weight is 1660 kilograms or 3659 pounds. Not a lightweight but certainly impressive for a hybrid sports car packing what is now said to be around 800 horsepower with 580 coming from the gasoline 4.6 liter gasoline motor. The brochure also reveals a host of customization options. ...Published on 09-19-2012 03:50 AM
Here is a new report from Autobild which states the new 991 Turbo model will feature four wheel steering to improving handling performance. This should be treated as a rumor as it has not been confirmed by Porsche yet but is a very interesting development. Four wheel steering systems are often used on large vehicles at low speeds to help turn in but some vehicles such as the Mitsubishi 3000GT used the system at high speeds to assist with handling. ...Published on 09-16-2012 09:02 PM
Gemballa continues to move forward after the loss of its founder. Introducing the Gemballa GT aerodynamics package for the 991 Carrera Convertible. It does not come cheap at $26,070 with the wheels pictures costing an additional $12,989. That is a very hefty price for a set of wheels 21 inch forged and lighter than the stock 20 inchers or not. The body kits consists of a front spoiler, side skirts, rear bumper, and rear diffuser designed around the absurd looking Gemballa exhaust tips. ...Published on 09-14-2012 11:03 PM
The new F10 M5 is a very powerful vehicle and really simply in another performance league compared to the awesome yet comparatively under-powered Panamera GTS. Sure, the Panamera GTS is closer in price to the F10 M5 but really Porsche's best, the Turbo S, should be used here and the F10 M5 should remain proud it can compete against the best Porsche has to offer even at a much, much cheaper price point. ...Published on 09-12-2012 07:35 PM
Here is the S version of the Cayenne Diesel which sports an awesome 382 horsepower and 627 pound-foot of torque twin turbo 4.2 liter V8. The standard Cayenne Diesel in comparison (which is coming to the USA) gets a paltry 240 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque turbo 3.0 liter six-cylinder. So are we getting this awesome diesel model in the United States? The answer to that question unfortunately is no. ...Published on 09-06-2012 08:01 PM
Parts keep coming for the new 991 Porsche 911 Carrera Vehicles. Agency Power released their intake which provides nice gains but seems to carry a Porsche tax on the price. It was tested on the standard 991 Carrera and peak gains are 6 horses at the wheels and 15 horses at the wheels from 3500 to 5300 rpm on a Mustang Dyno. It will work on the 991 Carrera S as well. In addition the power numbers the intake will also give the motor a throatier sound. ...Published on 09-06-2012 02:55 AM
Now the new Porsche 991 Carrera S is a highly impressive piece of machinery. Porsche basically made the Carrera S as quick as the 997 GT3 as the PDK model was able to do a Nurburgring laptime in the same amount of time as the updated 997.2 GT3. Tiff Needell uses the 7-Speed manual version of the 991 Carrera S versus the GT3 which is considerably slower than its 991 Carrera S PDK counterpart. ...Published on 09-05-2012 02:11 AM
Well, only two races are left in the 2012 ALMS season. Those two races being the Virginia International Raceway 240 on September 15th and the Petit Le Mans on October 20th. Porsche scored a large victory at this past weekends Baltimore GP with factory drivers Bryan Sellers and Wolf Henzler taking the victory. Chevy and Ferrari finished in 2nd and 3rd respectively to round out the top 3 and Porsche inched closer to second place BMW in the standings. ...Published on 09-04-2012 02:55 AM
Here is another titanium exhaust system from Agency power this time for the Porsche Panamera Turbo. The full system includes a high flow center pipe, mufflers, and 76mm exhaust tips. The entire weight of the system is only 28 pounds with 14 pounds of that weight coming from the mufflers, impressively light. A lifetime warranty is included showing that they stand by the system which is a great value at $3,500. ...Published on 08-29-2012 01:47 PM
Magazine numbers from both of these cars put them at similar acceleration levels. In the 1/4 mile the Porsche Turbo's all wheel drive favors it slightly but from a roll on the rear wheel drive of the Ferrari should have the advantage. The 458 is about 200 pounds lighter depending on options. On paper the 458 has more horsepower but the Turbo has more torque under the curve. Both have quick shifting dual clutch transmissions. ...Published on 08-28-2012 11:44 PM
There have been several conflicting reports regarding the transmission options for the upcoming Porsche 991 GT3. EVO Magazine stated the car would have 470 horsepower and a PDK trans. Our latest report on the topic stated Porsche was leaning toward offering the PDK trans and that both manual and PDK versions were undergoing testing. The video below clearly shows PDK rev matched downshifts and the lightning quick PDK upshifts. ...Published on 08-27-2012 07:21 PM
Congratulations to Porsche, the new Carrera S is MotorTrend's best drivers car of 2012. It achieved this impressive feat against strong competition including the Lamborghini Aventador, Jaguar XKR-S, Ford Shelby GT500, Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, McLaren MP4-12C, Nissan GTR Black Edition, Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series, and the Subaru BRZ was invited as well for some reason. ...Published on 08-27-2012 12:11 PM

Styling changes include the wider rear bodywork as well as the strip in back connecting the rear lights. The new C4S is also a very impressive 147 pounds lighter than the previous generation model. ...Panamera GTS and Panamera Turbo S comparison, naturally aspirated Porsche V8 versus turbo Porsche V8
Published on 08-23-2012 01:01 PM
Now this is obviously a mismatch but still cool to see. The Panamera Turbo S has a 550 horsepower 4.8 liter Twin Turbo V8 routed through a dual clutch transmission to all four wheels. The Panamera GTS has a 430 horsepower 4.8 liter naturally aspirated V8 that also is routed through a dual clutch transmission to all four wheels. Obviously the Turbo S model is going to be much faster but it is interesting to see just by how much. ...Published on 08-22-2012 10:21 AM
The idea of comparing a sports car like the 997 GT to the Nissan Juke is almost insane. That is until you consider this is a Juke-R which was created using the Nissan GT-R drivetrain and chassis pieces. The Juke-R weighs slightly more than the Nissan GTR but with it's shorter wheelbase it actually has quicker turn in. The center of gravity being higher no doubt hurts it but still the Juke-R is a very impressive little piece of machinery (and maybe even more fun than the GTR). ...
