This was a nice little surprise at Porsche's section. The Panamera GTS is based on the 4S so it has all wheel drive. It also has the same 4.8 liter direct injected naturally aspirated V8 but with a 30 horsepower bump to 430. The body is lowered 10mm and the wheels gets 5mm spacers. The 4S also gets the Panamera Turbo brakes as standard. The extra horsepower is what one is really paying for here and it is achieved by a new tune, higher redline by 400 rpm to 7100, and new valve springs to go along with those additional revs.

This clip is from Jeremy Clarkson's new Powered Up DVD. Nice to see a drag race between these two cars but the GT2 RS is launched rather poorly and simply gets creamed. The straightline difference between the cars is not this large as the trap speeds in most tests show simply that the Porsche is much, much harder to launch properly. It is rather amusing how Clarkson refers to the GT2 RS as a Volkswagen and well, he's kind of right.

Early 911's are not exactly heavy cars. The lightest examples tip the scales at around 2400 pounds. DP Motorsport shaves around 450 pounds from that for a vehicle that weighs under 2000 pounds. How do they do it? Well, starting with a 1973 911 as a base the carbon fiber body kit replaces bumper, hood, fenders, spoiler, and even the roof panel. They also replace the windows with plexiglass. The interior is stripped out leaving a vehicle with a weigh of only 870 kilograms, impressive.

Well, so much for VW holding Porsche back to protect Audi. The Detroit Bureau reports Porsche is intent on growing as large as possible as fast as possible setting a very loft goal of doubling global sales by 2015. To do that in just 4 years would be absolutely incredible but Porsche is the most profitable automaker on the planet. The numbers look possible as they want to go from about 97,000 vehicles to 200,000+. The Cajun entry level SUV and the entry level roadster are the models Porsche is betting on that will push the sales numbers to their goal.

Prior Design makes a lot of nice body kits for a variety of cars. This one is a bit different than their other offerings as it is designed to update a 996 to look like a 997. This updated version of the kit looks better than what was posted previously as the wing make the rear of the car look cleaner and flow better which not something a large wing often does. Overall, we still think the best thing to do with a 996 that an owner wants to look like a 997 is to trade it in for one.

The Cayman is an absolutely awesome drivers car. The only downside has really been that Porsche protects the 911 at the Cayman's expense and that the looks were somewhat feminine with the previous generation. Well, the new 981 generation is coming as a 2013 model and these spyphotos reveal a much more aggressive and larger looking car. The rear of the car being the major improvement. Will Porsche let this vehicle evolve more this time around? They will probably still guard the 911 gravy train but the next generation Cayman is shaping up nicely thus far.

This is the new 2012 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. This is what customer racing teams can buy for a cool 500,000 Euros. It is 48 millimeters wider than the previous model along with new aerodynamics. The vehicle has a 4.0 liter motor fitted with air restictors that can be changed depending on the series it is being raced in. The motor is mated to a 6 speed sequential transmission. Car will be ready for delivery in January, who else wants one?

Well, SEMA 2011 is over with for us. We have tons of photos and will be splitting our BMW, Audi, Porsche, and Mercedes coverage up along with some bonus coverage. The show overall was great and seemed busier than last year. The photo equipment from last year is much improved but some photos are dark due to mistakes choosing the correct settings on the camera and flash. We promise to improve, enjoy the photos and commentary.

Who is ECU Tuning Group? Well, we don't really know as they seem to be the new name/label of Singh Autosport as that is the name still included on the dyno sheet. Regardless, they are claiming huge gains on the Panamera Turbo of 129.75 horsepower and 95.88 pound-feet of torque. The dyno is a European Cartec dyno so it at least appears Singh is reselling or modifying a European Tune. When we see a graph from overseas from a tuner based in the US it does not leave us all that confident. Show us the dynojet, mustang, or dyno dynamics numbers to prove a car in the USA on our fuel has been tuned making these gains and then we'll talk.

We like that Porsche covers just about everything. Their cars are amazing and their Porsche design studio produces some very cool and interesting (and expensive!) stuff. Case and point, this Johnnie Walker Blue Label private bar of which only 50 will be made for a cool $150k. The chiller can be purchased for just $375 and the cube for $770. Not cheap, but a heck of a lot less than $150k for what is an awesome way to display some prized liquor.

The facility in Leipzig has served primarily since early 2000 to produce the Cayenne SUV. It was expanded in 2009 to produce the Panamera. Expansion is taking place again, this time to produce the Cajun which will be based on the Audi Q5. Investment is approximately 500 million Euros as detailed in the Porsche press release, a big chunk of change. Vorsteiner has announced their carbon fiber 997 hood is available for custom order. The bonnet is a direct replacement for the factory 997 turbo hood and we believe will also work on all 997 models. It features 1x1 carbon weave and is available either in high gloss or or matte clear lacquer finishes. No word on the price for the bonnet or the weight savings vs. the factory steel hood. Some of the older folks who read this site may not know who The Game is. He is an American rapper from Los Angeles. That should likely explain why this Porsche Panamera has been hideously blinged out. It's sad to see huge gaudy red rims that would look out of place even on an Escalade along with red trim in all the wrong places. Red chosen obviously to signify the rapper's ties to the Bloods street gang. Our advice? If you want to look like a baller save the money on the overdone rims and painted trim and go get yourself a stock Panamera Turbo.

Vorsteiner teased their 958 Cayenne Turbo body kit with the following photos. A great looking kit that is not overdone like some of the others. The entire offering for the Cayenne will consist of the carbon body pieces, forged wheels, and exhaust systems. Parts will be available for the Cayenne, Cayenne S, and Cayenne Turbo. Expect the official release of the parts toward the end of this year, 2011.

This simply has to be seen to be believed. A Cayman owner in the Washington area decided to modify his car. We are all for that and all for the awesome Techart widebody kit he did which costs a pretty penny. It is the paintjob after the kit was installed that makes us scratch our heads. The high quality air brush paint job cost about $15,000 but is completely out of place on a Porsche Cayman. It looks like it should be on a Hot Rod or Sand Rail of some sort, not a Porsche. Well, it's different, that is for sure.

The Cayman R with PDK is one very quick little vehicle. How quick? Well, how does 0-60 in 4.0 seconds flat sound? How about the 1/4 mile in 12.5@110? That is pretty darn quick. Insideline loved the car and it is hard not to see why. Great steering feel, low weight, awesome handling, and as they put it, "911-threatening acceleration with PDK." We want to remind you that Autocar claimed the BMW 1M "crushes" the Cayman in a straightline. Uh, it is actually the other way around.

This is the first body kit Duke Dynamics had done for a Porsche model. You might remember that they mostly do BMW work but they are expanding into other markets. The kit is not overly aggressive and looks pretty good. Fitment seems spot on and it adds a nice level of aggression to the Cayman without being over the top. These are all bolt on body pieces and you can expect more Porsche body kits from Duke Dynamics in the future.

14 years is a really, really long time. CAR Magazine is reporting that is the case as Porsche wants this styling to last 14 years through 2 7 year model cycles. So, two 7 year cycles absolutely make sense as the outgoing Porsche 997 did exactly that from 2005-2012. The difference here being that Porsche expect this same styling proportion to last them 14 years according to CAR and through one generation update. We don't buy what car is selling as after 7 years the exterior better get somewhat of an update or the 911 is going to look very dated.

Spy photographers caught the new 981 generation Boxster driving about. The car looks basically the same up front, no major changes. The side and rear have received some major updates though giving the car a far more aggressive look. The side intakes have been opened up tremendously and the rear looks much more aggressive giving the car a more masculine look. We hope that rear spoiler that goes through the taillights does not make it to production as it just seems odd. A great update by Porsche but nothing truly ground breaking.

Porsche recently released their official video from the Frankfurt Auto Show which highlights the interior and design choices of the new 991. As many have noticed, the interior is a huge improvement over the 997 which certainly was not bad looking itself. The new interior shared the Panamera scheme which the Cayenne also adopted. Porsche discusses the new audio options (Bose and Burmester) as well as the various options such as Porsche exclusive for the interior.
