10 second E46 M3 coming soon? HPF allegedly sets new E46 60 foot record at 1.55

I'm glad to see this happening; it only took nearly 2 years for someone to beat the benchmark 60ft time (1.61) I set with my E46 in 2009.

The driver is showing some inexperience at the line. I wouldn't be posting time slips either if I redlit with a 200 or 300 light on a "record" pass. That first launch where the car starts moving through the staging beams before the start also was a bit of a rookie mistake as well. That said, most people have no idea how intense rolling to the line can be... it prompts all kinds of mistakes because of "nerves".

Yes, exactly correct it isn't easy especially with spectators.

Even though he redlit it still is a record 60 foot. It isn't sanctioned racing or competition, he is competing with himself.

Yes no time slips = lame. That doesn't mean the 60 foot sucked.

For the record, I've got all kinds of "cherries" bracket racing. Anyone can do it....but I just found that to be a HUGE jump.

100 shot of nitrous on a 245rwhp N/A engine, 4.10 rear end and MT ET Street slicks. Car weighed around 3100 Lbs with driver.



After repeatedly damaging drivetrain components, I intensionally started launching softly. For example, the quickest/fastest run I made with the car had a 1.72 60 ft, 11.50 ET and 118MPH

A "cherry" is a red light...from jumping the start.

On a "500" tree, there is 0.5 seconds between each bulb coming on. A perfect light would be a 0.500 reaction time, anything less than that would light up the red light signifying a jumped start. Lots of people jump a little from time to time....running a 4XX light...but a 200 or 300 is just a huge jump.

its odd you say that, he claims to have been drag racing straight since he was 16 y.o.

I know he made 100s of passes with his Supra so he's no rookie. It probably was just shaking the bugs out of an entirely new setup combined with minor jitters (the last time he took that car to the strip it was a stage 1 -- 4 years ago).

I agree with this, jitters and bugs.

However, it has also been a while since the supra days. E46 is a different ball game.
