• E39 M5 2JZ supra turbo motor swap by E-shift Performance hits over 800 wheel horsepower on E85

      The E39 M5 here belongs to BimmerBoost member 930chas. The 2JZ-GTE supra motor was rebuilt by E-Shift Performance and has been set up for 93 octane as well as E85. The motor was recently tuned by Justin Nenni of Tuning Concepts and has put down some very impressive numbers. On 93 octane the car dyno'd 613 wheel horsepower and on E85 it put down an eye opening 848 wheel horsepower. Impressive? Yes indeed. Check out the videos and pictures below.

        BMW makes it hard on tuners.

        For whatever reason, they are becoming a less and less enthusiast friendly company.

        Thank you Sticky for putting that together, and thanks much for all the compliments. There will definitely be plenty of road videos, but probably not for a couple more weeks. We are waiting for a VSL aluminum radiator to come in and then need to dial in the RLTC. Highest whp was actually 893 at 30psi. E-shift is having issues with their torque readouts, Justin figures it to be high 700ft lbs on e85.

        haha...what you don't want a dusty old m5 with a Toyota motor in tradefor your built motor/dct m3?? I am shocked. lol.

        Yeah, I am pretty excited to spend some time driving it this summer. Very curious to see how it will hold up.

        Their torque readings were not working...again, but don't worry, it makes a ton of torque.

        I just looked at a dyno sheet on a car with the following specs.

        Just got off the dyno with a 7175, made 900rwhp/730rwtq at 35 psi.

        25psi, 30psi, and 35 psi all in 4th gear on a Dynojet.
        Tuned by Chris Hamilton on an AEM EMS, motor built by Joe Hussain aka "Carchitect".

        Precision billet 7175 journal bearing with a 0.96 exhaust housing
        Motor has Carillo rods, Wiseco pistons, PE bearings
        stock head with HKS 264's and PHR springs and Ti retainers, shimless buckets
        HKS 4" exhaust, 4" downpipe, on a WOTM manifold.
        ID2000cc injectors with 2 Bosch 044 pumps and teflon line setup.
        Carbonetics triple carbon clutch and TRD LSD
        Greddy 3 row intercooler and PHR breather kit
        AEM EMS with a 3.5 bar sensor, FJO wideband and NTK sensor

        That is very impressive. That must be an awesome tuner adding some decent timing in the mid range.
