      This is a rather interesting development. With the confirmation of a Dual Clutch Transmission many were wondering if a manual would be available. We poked fun earlier of the idea of BMW charging more for a manual transmission but it seems that may be true. The German publication Focus reports that only the American market will get the manual transmission likely due to the CTS-V offering it. BMW has yet to confirm the report.

        They finally came and read bimmerboost reports on how stupid bmw M division has become. Now this is more like it Bmw keep it coming!@!!!!!

        Probably more like "hey we can charge the same or more for a manual we already put in the 550i and they will pay LOL."

        oh $#@!, you're right. we can charge more for something that costs us less. BRILLIANT! So do we know what engine will be put in the m5? or its prob gonna be the 550i engine with some tuning lol

        Well we know the Motor, the S63. Some people consider it the N63 with some different tuning but it does have physical differences (compression, manifold, turbos). So, S63 V8 putting out around 570 hp.

        S63 with around 580-hp but a real number of around 600-hp. At least in my estimation.

        That is what he is saying, we will see. BMW does not underrated M cars but these turbo motors might change things.

        i doubt it , it's a HP war so automakers do their best to achieve bigger numbers than others.
        alot of people said N54 is underrated and it has much higher hp numbers. i had a chance to be a witness when an owner put his engine on dyno. yes it was underrated but with just 3HP !

        That's good for those of us that will be tuning the turbos...that tranny needs to hold that tq!

        The N54 is underrated. It really depends on the dyno but the N54 is one of the most underrated motors to come from BMW.
