Some eye opening power here from a C63 AMG with a built engine, Weistec Stage 3 3.0 liter supercharger, Weistec tuning, and nitrous. The result with the laughing gas is 929 wheel horsepower on a dynojet. On the blower alone without the nitrous the result is 646 wheel horsepower. So, a gain of 283 wheel horsepower with the nitrous on top of the Stage 3 3.0 liter blower on a built motor. That is enough for a new wheel horsepower record. ...Published on 03-22-2013 11:13 PM
Some sphyphotos here of a production ready BMW F32 4-Series coupe. The photos are not the best quality but reveal the production design elements which hold reasonably close to the 4-Series concept. The most glaring changes are the rear bumper which loses the aggressive design of the concept car which everyone obviously realized would be changed for production. The M157 scene just continues to heat up and already we are seeing tuners go back and forth breaking records. Weistec recently hit 727 wheel horsepower with their turbo upgrade package on 100 octane race gas. This stood as the M157 horsepower record since January but AMS has broken this record with a 787 wheel horsepower pull. Congratulations to Maximum PSI (and tuner NickG of Technique Tuning fame) on what certainly looks like a very solid stock DME tuned turbo kit offering for the E46 M3 S54 inline-6. At 13 psi on the stock motor internals using the full Maximum PSI exhaust system and 100 octane race gas the turbo kit put down 602 wheel horsepower on a dynojet using SAE correction. $77,900 certainly is not cheap but that is what the 2013 Audi RS4 Cabriolet will start at in the USA. The familiar direct injected 4.2 liter V8 get a boost to 450 horserpowe which is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. Buyers will also get the option of carbon ceramic brakes solely for the front wheels for an additional $6,000. Just in case for some reason you were not yet impressed with the new 9000 RPM, 3.8 liter, 475 horsepower, PDK equipped 991 GT3 the Hockenheim laptime results should be all that is necessary to sway you. How quick did it lap? 1:08.0. To put that in perspective the laptime is faster than the 997 GT2 RS, Ferrari 458 Italia, Lamborghini Aventador, McLaren MP4-12C, Porsche 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0, and the Corvette ZR1. ...Published on 03-20-2013 08:53 PM
More SUV's (or SAV's as BMW calls them) are coming from BMW which should be no shock to anyone. These are high volume models for BMW so the more variants they can create the better for the bottom line. The new SUV will share the F25 X3 platform and this mains the same drivetrain as well. Here it is, the new AMG pocket rocket the 2014 CLA45 AMG. This will now be the entry level AMG model in the Mercedes-Benz lineup. All details have previously been leaked so you should know it has the world's most powerful production four-cylinder motor with its 360 horsepower M133 turbocharged and direct injected 2.0 liter. Great results yet again from a Weistec upgrade Mercedes-Benz AMG vehicle. This particular E55 AMG has the Weistec 3.0 liter supercharger upgrade for the W211 E55 AMG and M113K equipped Mercedes AMG vehicles. So what is the result? How about a 10.757@132.92 miles per hour at the MIR drag strip. Vorsteiner is hard at work on the new F10 M5 and will be releases a bunch of parts for the new M5. These include their usual body kit offering which will consist of a front carbon spoiler, carbon diffuser, carbon trunk spoiler, carbon sideblades, and a full carbon trunk. Vorsteiner wheels are included in the renderings below in a size of 22 inches. So good news for diesel lovers, Audi continues to expand their diesel offerings. At the Los Angeles International Auto Show last year Audi showed a huge expansion of their diesel lineup with diesel powerplants set to be offered in the A6, A7, A8, and the Q5. Curiously absent was the A4 considering what a high volume model it is for Audi. Very, very nice results shown here by Unitronic who worked on this MKVI GTI that was able to put down a very impressive 470 wheel horsepower in STD correction on a dynojet. This was done with 28 psi of boost using a PTE 5530 turbocharger with pump gas and water/meth injection. Well the price tag for the Nurburgring, arguably the most famous circuit in the world today and used as a measuring stick for manufacturers, is up for sale for a price of $165 million. The track was announced as being bankrupt in August of last year. Well here are some results for the Vargas Stage III upgrade that has caused the N54 forum section to basically be engaged in chaos for the past few months. From accusations of vaporware, to comparison to single turbo upgrades, to countless other arguments the day has come and the Stage III Vargas Turbo upgrade dyno'd on 91 octane with no meth 572 horsepower to the rear wheels. There will be more than one 4-Series variant with how BMW is attempting to squeeze every model they can out of platforms to increase sales. The (hideous) 3-Series GT was recently revealed and the 4-Series will be getting another variant as well with the F35 4-Series GT. The 2013 Formula 1 season is officially underway after the running of the Australian Grand Prix this pas weekend. The season is off to an interesting start with Kimi Raikkonen and the Lotus team taking the victory. Raikkonen qualified in sixth and what helped was his two stop pit strategy extending his tires quite a bit. Wow, WOW! 10.3@133 on stock turbos? Yep, that just happpened. Congratulations to GIAC who was able to help set the new 997 Turbo stock turbocharger 1/4 mile record with this Porsche 997.2 Turbo S with has the PDK transmission. And this was done in Florida at Palm Beach International Raceway which is not the quickest track due to the humid Florida weather. Conditions were not ideal but not poor either with DA falling at 6 pm putting the density altitude for these runs from ~835 - ~600 feet above sea level. ...Published on 03-15-2013 03:37 PM
Even those these upgrades are "Stage 3" from their respective companies readers need to understand all stages are not created equal. The E46 M3 with the HPF Stage 3 upgrade received a built motor and a larger turbo making for a very significant power upgrade capable of 788 horsepower at the rear wheels. The Weistec Stage 3 supercharger upgrade for the C63 AMG M156 V8 on the other hand still uses the stock internals. ...Published on 03-15-2013 02:04 PM
Well this is a bummer. Mercedes seems to make an AMG variant of just about everything in their lineup so the GLK being left out in the cold doesn't make much sense especially with how popular SUV's have become and also performance variants. Audi recently launched the RS Q3 high performance entry level SUV and it seems Mercedes and AMG will not answer with a GLK AMG. They also will ignore competing with the Porsche Macan it seems. ...
