This is almost starting to get a bit boring isn't it? A new year brings the same dominance we have seen from the R18 E-tron hybrid race cars. You may remember the R18 E-Tron took the pole for the 24 Hours of Le Mans last year and also became the first hybrid to win the race. With the second race of the FIA World Endurance Championship set to take place later today, the R18 E-Tron sure looks like the favorite again this year qualifying 1-2-3 for the FIA 6-hours at Spa. ...Published on 05-04-2013 01:13 AM
$214,105 is a lot of coin to drop on a CL-Class even it is an AMG. In this case, especially if it is an AMG considering a slightly used CL600 featuring a very similar M275 Twin Turbo V12 motor with the same W216 body style can be had for over $100,000 less. Is the CL65 AMG really worth over $200,000? No, and the depreciation in the model will reflect that just as it did with the previous generation but that has never stopped Mercedes-Benz or people from buying it. ...Published on 05-03-2013 08:23 AM
Now this is what you call fast. Congratulations to Budler Motorsports for improving on their record (previously a 7.69 elapsed time) with a 7.48@184 1/4 mile run. This vehicle is a 5-speed manual E30 with an S38 swap that is turbocharged. Horsepower is somewhere in the ~1300 range. The world's fastest E30 BMW? Yep. Also the world's fastest manual BMW? Unless anybody can mention another BMW with a manual gearbox that is faster this E30 would appear to have that record. ...Published on 05-03-2013 06:24 AM
Just a little over 30 days ago PorscheBoost posted an article showing the 991 Turbo basically undisguised completing its final testing. The car appeared ready for its debut and well here it is. Porsche decided to show the car off before its official "public" debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September of this year. What is interesting to note is that just like its 991 GT3 sibling the new 991 generation 911 Turbo has no manual option and is PDK only. ...Published on 05-03-2013 05:41 AM
Here is AWE-Tuning's exhaust system for the new Audi RS5 Coupe with the 4.2 FSI motor and a 7-speed dual clutch S-Tronic gearbox. The 4.2 FSI motor gets a small horsepower bump over the RS4 and now has an output of 450 horses. Unfortunately, it seems Audi has squeezed out basically everything they could from this motor while keeping it street legal and able to run pump fuel. The AWE exhaust system only gains 3 horsepower at all four wheels. ...Published on 05-03-2013 01:21 AM
Here is the Techart offering for the new Porsche 981 Cayman and Cayman S. This being their initial offering, it is fairly mild with add-on pieces designed to accentuate the stock lines. The front of the car gets a two-piece lip. The rear gets a diffuser and a fixed wing spoiler that looks pretty good. Techart also offers side-scoop inserts to change the look of the scoops slightly along with caps for the side mirrors. ...Published on 05-02-2013 11:42 PM
Now this is what a BMW M car is supposed to sound like. A slight raspy growl down low with a tinge of that high pitched exotic whine as the revs rise and hell is unldeashed. This is a sweet sounding M3. The type of sound that adds another element to the M ownership experience. No need for fake or synthetic engine noise to be piped in to try to make the car more exciting like what BMW has to resort to doing in the new F10 M5 due to the poor engine note. ...Published on 05-02-2013 10:40 PM
Here is another leak regarding the upcoming W222 generation 2014 S-Class sedan. This appears to be a legitimate shot of the front of the car which was leaked internally. Mercedes-Benz was quite upset when the model presentation documents regarding the W222 were leaked earlier this year so they likely will not be too pleased about this picture somehow making its way out. Once these images hit the internet, little can be done to stop them spreading. ...Published on 04-30-2013 09:50 PM
This is a pretty interesting press release from Volkswagen giving us a peak into their future drivetrain plans. A 10-speed dual clutch transmission? Yep, that is exactly what they intend to do, "Areas of work being focussed on by Volkswagen include the development of a high-performance diesel engine delivering 100kW per litre of displacement and a new 10-speed dual clutch gearbox that reduces fuel consumption." Fitting 10 speeds with a dual clutch design is going to take some serious engineering. ...Published on 04-30-2013 09:11 PM
This is starting to get sad especially considering the M6 is the highest performance car BMW has right now. Car and Driver decided to do a comparison between the new F12 M6, Porsche 991 Carrera S, Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG, and the Jaguar XKR-S. All of which finished ahead of the BMW M6 which came in last place a position BMW is getting accustomed to being in as of late in automotive magazine comparison tests. ...Published on 04-30-2013 08:33 PM
Some great work here by PorscheBoost Porsche Performance Forum member M3ntal on this stock internal 996TT. This is the same car that on the stock motor hit 717 wheel horsepower. Looking for more power and torque M3ntal decided to switch from the restrictive OEM Y-pipe to a custom three inch Y-pipe design. The result? Substantial gains from about 3700 rpm to 6200 rpm. It would appear to pick up as much as 50 wheel horsepower in the mid range. ...BMS (Burger Tuning) hits new N54 stock turbo Dynojet dyno record with 461 rear wheel horsepower pull

With all the discussions as of late regarding upgraded turbo options for N54 inline-6 twin turbo based vehicles the stock N54 turbos have not been getting a lot of love. Well, in comes BMS to remind us just how much power the stock turbos can make these days. The N54 has come a long way and BMS was able to squeeze out 461 rear wheel horsepower on a dynojet in STD correction. Also 510 pound-feet of rear wheel torque. ...Published on 04-30-2013 01:52 AM
Yep, Gemballa is still in business and still using the Gemballa name to its advantage even after the mysterious death of Uwe Gemballa in South Africa. The name is so well known it is no surprise really so here is the latest offering from them, the Gemballa GT body kit. This consists of a new front spoiler, side skirts, rear bumper, and exhaust tips. There are also modification options available for the interior as well as lightweight Gemballa 21 inch wheels which weigh less than the factory 20's. ...Published on 04-30-2013 01:41 AM
A warm welcome from BimmerBoost.com to its newest vendor, Gaphix Design Haus. The company is new and located in Los Angeles, California. BimmerBoost signed and NDA (non-disclosure agreement) so unfortunately details on the two new product coming can not be posted at this time but we most certainly can introduce Gaphix Design Haus and also tell you that there will be two completely new products one the E46 M3 and well as E9X M3. ...Published on 04-26-2013 11:00 PM
MHP. Modern Horsepower. Andrew Cluck. These names are all known on the Mercedes-Benz forums but for the wrong reasons. For years, MHP has used forums to try to push their products stating they are the best and using drag racing records as the reasoning for this "supposed" superiority. The truth of the matter is, MHP was not doing their own M156 / 63 AMG tuning others were doing it for them which Mr. Cluck would then essentially re-sell at a premium and take credit for. ...Published on 04-26-2013 09:42 PM
Well, this is news of sorts. Audi made some waves when the R10 diesel supercar for the street based on inspiration from the LeMans diesel race cars was said to be in development. As of right now, there apparently is no business case for the diesel supercar. That is exactly what Audi technical director Wolfgang Durheimer stated, "No business decision on series production, but we hope to create one." So, as of right now, this car is not approved for production and all the talk has just been talk. ...Published on 04-26-2013 05:32 PM
Foreword by admin: Gentlemen, many M3 enthusiasts and car modification enthusiasts in general tend to get this wrong. Active Autowerke put up a quick article explaining that one can not compare superchargers especially for the M3 platform simply by looking at the PSI figures. 7 psi on a Vortech T-Trim and 7 psi on a Rotrex blower do not tell the whole story as far as how much air (measured in CFM, or cubic feet per minute) is getting into the motor and at what rpm. PSI does not explain the torque curve, max CFM the blower is capable of, or the compressor map. A good read by Active Autowerke explaining this below even for those familiar with boost being a measure of backpressure. ...Published on 04-25-2013 08:44 PM
2449 pounds? 310 horsepower? A power to weight ratio of 7.9 pounds per horsepower? AudiBoost likes, AudiBoost likes this a lot! Say hello to the Audi Ultra TT Quattro Concept. Audi managed to lighten the standard TT by a whopping 661 pounds. That is a heck of a lot of weight to shave and Audi did it in impressive fashion. Extensive use of carbon fiber, fiber-reinforced plastic, and magnesium helps Audi shave a lot of weight including 220 pounds from the body alone. ...Published on 04-25-2013 07:53 PM
Say hello to the Black Edition Mercedes-Benz C207 E-Class Coupe by Prior Design. This is yet another successful AMG Black Series style body kit by Prior Design. The kit really makes sense for the E-Class considering no Black Series or AMG styling is available for the car since there is no E-Class coupe AMG variant let alone a Black Series variant. Black series design elements are seen throughout the kit namely with the aggressive wide fenders which are a Black Series hallmark. ...Published on 04-24-2013 07:43 PM
Two great videos here showing the new F12 M6 coupe going head to head on the highway versus a Porsche 997.1 Turbo and also the new F10 M5. As we have previously seen when the F12 M6 and F10 M5 raced on the highway, the M6 shows itself to be faster than the M5. The difference is larger than one would expect and enough to make the decision easy for a person deciding between the M5 and M6 who wants maximum performance. The weight penalty of the M5 simply can not be hidden. ...
