Discussion from Audi regarding the next generation TT such as a return to the original style language and aggressive targeting of lightweight high performance models have prompted a large degree of speculation on the next generation car. This has naturally led to speculative renderings and the ones we have posted below are quite simply excellent. It's safe to say if the car looks as good as imagined here it will be a success. ...Published on 12-03-2012 08:02 PM
The 3-Series Gran Turismo was captured completely undisguised during a photo shoot but the car is so damn ugly BimmerBoost would prefer the car with its camouflage on or in other words with a bag over its head. BimmerBoost wondered why another GT variant made sense after the failure of the 5-Series GT. Well, rather than give us an M1 supercar, an M3 GTS, or a Z4M, instead we all get another confused GT that does not know if it's trying to be a wagon, SUV, or both. ...Published on 12-03-2012 07:10 PM
This is not really "new" news. In July of last year PorscheBoost reported that a 350 horsepower 2.5 liter turbocharged four-cylinder would make its way into the new Cayman and Boxster. It was expected for this motor to take longer to go into the model however as the rumor was the motor would make its debut when the 981 Cayman and Boxster received a facelift somewhere around 2015. Reports not indicate the car with the turbo motor will make its debut as early as next year in Frankfurt. ...Published on 12-03-2012 05:40 PM
All hail what appears to be (at least on paper) the new king of the luxury performance sedan segment. The current E63 AMG is already a beast but as reported in October was rumored to get all wheel drive and a dual clutch transmission. Part of that report is now confirmed by MotorTrend who got to spend some time with the new E63 AMG. This will be one the first non-SUV AMG vehicles to get all wheel drive which will coming to more and more models such as the CLA45 AMG. ...Published on 12-01-2012 10:10 PM
The Panamera Turbo sounds pretty good in stock form but for those wanting to uncork that V8 an aftermarket exhaust is necessary. In comes Akrapovovic with their Titanium valved exhaust system for the Porsche Panamera Turbo. Made out of titanium, it is lighter than the factory exhaust system. The system makes a noticeable difference even when the valves are closed compared to the factory exhaust. ...Published on 12-01-2012 07:46 PM
Taking automotive designed and technology and applying them to regular goods is not anything new as Porsche Design does this all the time. Audi decided to showcase their talents on something as simple and basic as a chair. This chair being anything but basic however weighing only 4.8 pounds thanks to its chair legs made of folded sheet aluminum welded using a cold metal transfer process and the seat shell being made of carbon fiber composite materials. ...Published on 12-01-2012 07:16 PM
Here is the final round of spyphotos showing the CLA45 AMG testing before the official debut of the CLA-Class at the Detroit Auto Show in January. The CLA45 AMG itself will make its debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show later in the year. The engine will be the M133 turbocharged and direct injected 2.0 liter four-cylinder with an output of 354 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque thanks to 26 psi of boost from its turbo. ...Published on 12-01-2012 05:09 PM
The last time an update was posted on this turbo kit from Maximum PSI was September of this year when with pump gas the E46 M3 project car put down 467 wheel horsepower. Maximum PSI recently got the car back from Florida from tuner Nick G of Technique Tuning and they decided to put the car on the dyno with some race gas. The result? 523 wheel horsepower in SAE correction and 562 wheel horsepower graph as well whih was uncorrected. ...Published on 12-01-2012 02:42 AM
The Volkswagen Eos hardtop convertible will be killed off by Volkswagen permanently. No second generation model, no successor to replace it. The move makes sense as there would be overlap in the model range with the Beetle Convertible not to mention the Golf Convertible as well. Head of design at Volkswagen Klaus Bichoff stated, "The Eos will not be prolonged, and then you have two convertibles in the range, the Beetle Cabriolet and the Golf Convertible." ...Published on 11-30-2012 10:24 PM
The last time PorscheBoost had an article about TPC was a story regarding their 3.7 liter low compression built motor Cayman turbo setup. This was on a Cayman without the direct injected motor that came in 2009. We suspect the fuel system in the direct injected cars along with the PDK transmission is giving TPC some trouble and it has led one owner of a PDK 2012 Cayman R to put his car up for sale. ...Published on 11-30-2012 07:55 PM
The B8 S4 is a stout platform offering very large gains from bolt-on mods including a tune. The E92 M3 being naturally aspirated and not supercharged from the factory does not gain as much but starts with more horsepower to begin with. GIAC tested their Stage 2 software at the airstrip and the result was their B8 S4 with the S-Tronic dual clutch transmission pulling a 6-speed manual bolt on E92 M3. ...Published on 11-30-2012 07:01 PM
The Gruppe M intake for the F10 M5 is a very nice piece of hardware albeit one that is quite expensive. How expensive? $3500 to get this beautiful carbon fiber intake for your F10 M5. It is not just all looks as the intake managed to show an extra 11 wheel horsepower up from the 523 wheel baseline with the Eisenmann Race rear section. This is in SAE correction on the EAS dynojet dynanometer. ...Published on 11-30-2012 06:25 PM
The SLS AMG in the video below belongs to a tuner out of San Diego California by the name of HG Motorsports. This is really the first BenzBoost has seen of an M156 or M159 tuned by them in action. The car features their ECU tune, long tube headers, Akrapovic titanium exhaust, and HRE P43S wheels. Power figures are not stated and no dyno results were posted showing the gains of the parts but the video clearly shows the car taking on stout competition and doing well. ...Published on 11-30-2012 02:55 AM
Quite the diesel roll-out party from Audi who launched four new diesel models at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show. The 2014 Audi A6, A7, A8, and Q5 all get a diesel motor option. The same engine is shared with all the models which is a 240 horsepower 406 pound-feet of torque 3.0 liter turbo six-cylinder powerplant. The motor will provide roughly 24 city and 36 highway MPG in the A8 and this number will vary based on the weight of the other models. ...Published on 11-30-2012 02:15 AM
Now this is a serious build that gets tremendous nod of approval from BimmerBoost. VAC built an S65 V8 out of an E9X M3 with forged internals including low compression pistons with increased stroke from new rods an a 4.4 liter crank. The end result is a bottom end good for well over 700 horsepower with forced induction as seen pictured below with the VF-Engineering Vortech based centrifugal supercharger kit. ...Published on 11-30-2012 12:34 AM
Mercedes had a strong 2012 LA Auto Show with some major debuts. The first of which is the one that has been getting all the attention, the brand new SLS AMG Black Series. Mercedes showed up with a stunning yellow/gold painted example. The color simply is incredible in person with a very rich and deep look to it. The SLS Black Series itself just looks much more aggressive than the standard car and is simply a beautiful car. ...Published on 11-28-2012 07:46 PM
Here is what BMW brought to the Los Angeles Auto Show for 2012, their "i" brand taking center stage again. This year BMW did better as they did not put the "i" cars in a small boxed in room that made it difficult to take photographs. Admittedly, the i8 and i3 both looked great. The i8 really showing off its curves and looking sexier as a Spyder. The i3 itself (which was already leaked to the press earlier this week) looks better as a coupe and sportier. ...Published on 11-28-2012 07:02 PM
Here it is after months of teasing, the official new Porsche Cayman. Porsche did a pretty good job keeping the official car from being leaked for as long as they did. Well, it's here and the car is beautiful and just as expected. The design is much more masculine than the previous generation. It generated considerable attention and the Porsche hall was packed. Additionally, Porsche as usual had the best food and drink selection of any manufacturer at the show treating their guests in style. ...Published on 11-27-2012 06:44 PM
Audi continues to rack up impressive magazine comparison victories this time in the "4-door coupe" segment versus the Mercedes CLS and BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe. In the January 2013 issue of Road and Track they pick the A7 over its rivals which they made sure to equip with all wheel drive. Interestingly, the Audi was the quickest through the 1/4 mile but the Mercedes was right there with it in trap speed at 111. The BMW was slower than either even with the updated N63 V8 sporting 445 horses. ...Published on 11-27-2012 06:22 PM
The official reveal is not until tomorrow at the Los Angeles International Auto Show (PorscheBoost will be in attendance taking plenty of photos) but a French magazine leaked out an image early. It is only a photo of the front of the car but still it gives a nice idea of the final design. Nothing all too surprising, the car looks as expected. A nice little teaser until the web is flooded with photos of the real deal tomorrow. ...
