We did this months ago but nice to see Automobile get with the program. They used a dynojet which is nice to see and they admit it is a higher reading dyno. They also used a manual, as they state: "The DCT could experience greater loss due to its hydraulic pump and different gear ratios." Sounds like something else we did months ago. Automobile reaches the conclusion that the N55 suffers from less turbo lag than the N54 and it puts down less power, quite interesting. Our results showed the N55 with more peak power, much more than the 266 whp they hit. Dyno Graphs are below. ...Published on 09-10-2010 04:10 AM
AC Schnitzer has tackled the new 5 series and we get what we expected. They lower the car 25 mm with the use of their springs. The front bumper is modified and AC Schnitzer substitutes in their bumper with their chrome grille. The rear skirt is designed around the AC Schnitzer exhaust system. A trunk and roof spoiler are available as well and the sideskirts complete the look. The wheel line is of course available as well. Do we like it? We are not blown away by any means, AC Schnitzer just is not doing the impressive body styling they once did which seems to have ended with the E46. ...Published on 09-09-2010 03:31 AM

A couple shots of the alpha version full version board upgrade. A few bits blocked from the prying eyes that prowl these forums.
We're working on the firmware, tuning, etc, now, and everything is on schedule so far. Shooting for XMAS for a public beta test on this. This is really a huge project for us but will be well worth it for our customers in the long run.

People have been getting a bit carried away with this 1M hype. BMW reveals part of a fender and everyone "ooohs" and "aaahs" as if the messiah of the motoring world was revealed. Recently, BMWblog posted an article, "Top 10 Reasons Why The 1M Will Rock Your World." We asked BMWblog on twitter what about presenting the other side for a balanced view and were rebuked with, "They can start their own top 10." So, that is exactly what we did. ...Published on 09-08-2010 12:07 AM
In the past couple of weeks we have shown you an X5 doing a barrel roll and an X5 getting stuck in the sand. This got us thinking of showing some positive outcomes when using your X5 off road. Check out this video where the X5 rally driver does an absolutely mind boggling job keeping the car from rolling over. It is an oldie, but a goodie. Don't try this on your own with your own X5, ok? ...Published on 09-07-2010 10:59 PM
South Side Performance needs one DCT owner who is willing to test out the 600 hp clutch discs. These retail for $2,199. These will be given at absolutely no cost to one owner willing to post their impressions and allow documentation of their upgrade. If you were waiting to do this at some point, now is a good time. This is available to anyone with a BMW with the DCT transmission and includes installation. There is a short time frame to get in on this so hurry! ...Published on 09-07-2010 01:56 AM
Businessweek is reporting BMW CEO Plans ‘Big Push' in Models to Fend Off Audi, Mercedes. BMW currently is the largest luxury auto maker in the world, a title they took from Mercedes in the mid 90's. They plan to keep their lead by expanding the Mini range as well as the number of 6 series models with a 4 door coupe. BMW is also planning an all electric city car which no doubt has us all curious as to the 1/4 mile times. ...Published on 09-06-2010 09:46 PM
The guys at bimmertoday released some renderings of their interpretation of the new M6. You may remember that BimmerBoost brought you a rendering months ago. We like the look of the headlights here and hope the production model is similar. The proportions look great as well. The renderings themselves just seems blurry and almost as if from a video game. ...Published on 09-06-2010 05:45 PM

Ladies and gentlemen, It is this time of year again.... I have reserved Famoso Raceway (1/4 mile drag strip) on November 20th for our exclusive use. We will have both lanes available to us as well as full use of the entire facility including the barbecue grills
I am announcing the event earlier than usual this time to give enough time to people who are currently working on their car(s) or have on-going projects to wrap up their projects and bring their cars to the track for live testing and maybe even fine tuning. In the past, every time I organized one of these events I ended-up losing $300 to $600 out of pocket, which was okay until last year.... last time I ended-up paying $2400 out of pocket mostly in last minute cancellations. Lesson learned, so this time we're doing it by the book

Check out this video of West Coast Racing constructing a Z4 GT3 race car. The work depicted is approximately 600 hours. The Z4 GT3 is powered by an S65 V8 used in the M3. Top notch work done by these fellows from Sweden. Also check out the video below of the car in action on the track! ...Published on 09-04-2010 01:43 PM
Earlier this weak we showed you an X5 jump that went wrong. Today we bring you another X5 mishap. The Russian owner of this X5 wanted to show off his new ride and drove it right onto the beach. The X5 has some nice off road capability but it won't save you from getting yourself stuck in the sand. Eventually, they were able to free the car after some time spent digging and pushing. You can see the embarrassed owner high-tailing it out of there in the last photo. ...Published on 09-03-2010 02:03 AM
Why buy one of those overpriced FMIC's out there for ~$1000 when you easily can build a bigger one for $300? (All hoses and pipes included)
The IC it self costs $240 and the pipes and silicone hoses costs $60 from a shop here in Sweden. I like to do things by my self, so I said to my self; Why not give it a try?
This specific IC has an area of 13770 cm3.

Eisenmann is currently working on the exhaust for the new 535i. BimmerBoost sponsor IND has provided us with a sneak peak of the exhaust on the car. The tips clearly give it a more aggressive look. This is 20% on all software, stroker motors, superchargers, and S2 and S3 packages. Dinan has had sales each month now and with these sales the prices drop to a reasonable level. For example, the S65 M3 stroker drops to $20,799. We have been quite critical of Dinan pricing and for good reason, with these discounts it is clear just how large of a margin they had in their pricing which has been jumping around. The stroker motor just a few months ago was listed at $24,999. If someone is interested in a Dinan package, this is a good time to buy: www.dinanbmw.com ...Published on 09-02-2010 03:04 PM
We don't have many details on this X5 as Mansory has not provided any official details. As a matter of fact, Mansory does not even claim to have any packages for BMW's. Yet, here we have photos of a Mansory kit on an X5 M. We wish we had more details of this mystery X5 M and the tuning package from Mansory, but this all we were able to find. From the looks of it, the car has modified fenders as well as a new hood, front/rear bumpers, and a modified exhaust. The Mansory wheels also complete the look. ...Published on 09-02-2010 11:43 AM
Congratulations to Irishace who has the car of the month for September, 2010. This vehicle is the quickest 135 in Canada. The car has beautiful black rims and is not overdone stylistically. The vehicle is about performance and it certainly has performed. Check out Irshace's GARAGE for more photos along with his dyno and timeslips. ...Published on 08-31-2010 04:31 PM
Another amazing review by Former_Boosted_IS:
The trend of snapped half shafts (axles) on the entire 335i & 135i platforms has been increasing rapidly since many people have surpassed the 400 rwhp / 400 rwtq mark. To be honest, the trend is a bit disturbing. We have members on the forums who have broken three sets of half shafts on their car! Some refuse to track their car because they fear breaking more half shafts and they don’t want the embarrassing “tow of shame” home. I will even admit I have been very concerned about slapping on some drag radials or slicks because I just didn’t want to deal with breaking mine. We have seen failures with both the half shaft’s bar and within the inner universal CV. It has even been hinted that one of the tuners snapped his half shafts during a run at the track. This is clearly the single weakest link we have seen thus far on the drive train of all N54s. If we are to move forward with big power on the N54 then it means we have to identify the weak links and find fixes. The big problem is that there have been no option for half shaft upgrades at all… oh, that is until now.
