The 11 second supercharged V8 Audi's just keep coming. This is particularly interesting in how it stacks up to the APR B8 S5 that recently ran 11's. Unlike the APR setup, the JH Motorsports supercharger is a centrifugal Vortech based system. The car has a Stage 1 system at 6 psi, JHM tune, JHM headers, JHM manifold, JHM lightweight flywheel, JHM Stage 4 clutch, JHM intake spacers, JHM exhaust, JHM short shift kit, and JHM lightweight rotors. When I got my N54 and decided to tune it, one of the first things I needed was a boost gauge. Since the N54 meters pre throttle body, it becomes that much more important to know real boost values. I wanted an integrated setup that didn't look like a pod sitting on my dash at the time and the P3 (originally RiX vent gauge) was a perfect fit. It was sleek, OEM, and very stealthy. When I heard P3 was coming out with a version 2 of the gauge, I was immediately interested. ...

This is the 210 horsepower turbo 4 cylinder concept A-class, and we love it. The styling is aggressive and futuristic. The drivetrain choices are great with a turbo 4 and a dual clutch transmission. The thing looks like it should be much higher than just an entry level Mercedes. Will they actually build it? We don't doubt an A-class will come, but it should look exactly like this. ...

The car here is a W203 C230 C-Class. The car has an M272 E25 (2.5 liter) V6 stock which puts out 201 horsepower. The motor isn't a powerhouse but OE Tuning extracted more power out of it with gains of just about 9 horsepower at the wheels and 10 pound-feet at the wheels on 91 octane pump. HPF has been marketing their new setups aimed at getting better launches at the strip pretty heavily as of late. Chris, the owner, took the HPF M3 to the drag strip to test out the "anti-lag" setup which allows boost to be built at the line. The car allegedly hit 1.55 and we use that term because no slips were posted. We are not doubting it, but HPF (and others) need to get in the habit of posting timeslips when making such claims. There have been a lot of accusations flying around from various tuners as of late. A lot of it has concerned Powerchip and OE Tuning which is no secret to anyone. Well, there were accusations on another board that OE Tuning had been called out to a dyno comparison and it just kind of turned into a mess. We do not need to remind you that a previous shootout was scheduled in which these parties agreed to participate, so it seems neither is scared of the other. Well, we knew sooner or later the E-class would get the new twin turbo M157 V8 motor. Seems Mercedes went with sooner as in the next few months the E63 will dropping the M156 naturally aspirated V8 for the twin turbo motor. The performance package will be available for the E63 as well boosting the turbo motor from 518 horsepower to around 550. ...

There is classy modification and then there is... this. This "Mercedes" is for sale on Ebay apparentl, and we were just amazed that someone subjected this poor car to these tasteless modifications leading to a very confused vehicle. Audi style headlights? Lamborghini style doors? SLR style rims? A Ferrari license plate frame? It's painful to see. ...

What you see here is a Java Green E92 M3 with matching stitching ordered through BMW individual in Europe. The color is an extra 4700 Euros so not cheap but oh so worth it for the individuality. We have to ask, why is the E92 M3 standard color offering so boring? Why not more colors such as this without having to go through the convoluted BMW Individual program that certain US dealers are not even familiar with? Green may not be for everyone but this highlights that we need more color options as standard. ...

The Mclaren team continues its strong showing this season, winning the Shanghai Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton finished in first after starting in 3rd place. Teammate Jenson Button started in second and finished fourth. The Mercedes-Petronas team had its best result of the season with Nico Rosberg finishing in 5th place and Michael Schumacher in 8th. The next race is the Turkish Grand Prix on May 8th. ...

BMW continues its strong start to the ALMS season. After a 1-2 finish in the first race BMW has again finished in first. The second car finished in 7th place however. The competition is very strong as the second place Corvette set the lap record for the class. BMW is currently in first with the Corvette team in second place in the overall standings. The next race is the Northeast Grand Prix which will take place on July 9th. ...

BMW has qualified in the 1st and 3rd positions for the 2011 Long Beach Grand Prix. In addition to taking the pole, BMW set a new qualifying lap record. The M3's started the season strong with a 1-2 finish at Sebring and taking the pole bodes well for BMW's chances at Long Beach. The race will be on Sunday April 17, at 3:30 PM PST. There is no denying the Audi S5 is a great looking car. However, since the launch of the B8 S4 we have been wondering how long it would be until the car received the supercharged V6 from the S4 that not only gets better mileage but is far more mod friendly. Well, the video below shows that Audi is testing the car with the supercharged V6. It is likely this change will take place for the 2012 model year and we are hoping the DSG transmission comes with it. ...

Last week we brought you the initial pictures of the build process for the DCT oil pan. You saw one side of the pan and some users asked about seeing the other side. Well, here are the final machining photos revealing the completed pan. Congratulations to AWE Tuning! AWE's in house MKVI GTI set the ET record with a time of 11.87 at Cecil County Dragway. They also set the trap speed record with a 120 mph run. This is a front wheel drive car running on drag radials which is quite impressive. The previous record holder was a stripped out race car so for a street car on drag radials to hit these times with a K04 turbo, well, it's quite an achievement. Specs, timeslip, and video below. ...
