I'm so glad BMW joined to horsepower war :) Their previous M cars were more about balance than power. But then, in everyday life more torque and power is always a good thing :)

Well it doesn't necessarily have to be poorly maintained (possible yes) because not all motors leave the factory identical....especially hand built motors like a C6z. Ever heard the phrase "This motor was built on a Monday"

Wish we could have seen how this ended up being resolved, if it got resolved at all.

I feel like a lower factory output Z lined up with a strong factory M5. If they were both truly stock, then how else could this be explained? maybe the Z owner is bad about maintenance and his car needs some routine stuff done to get it back to peak output. With what information we have, it should be left at this: Possibility #1, M5 is hiding some mods Possibility #2, The Z06 is poorly maintained Possibility #3, M build this particular engine well, and Chevy didn't do so great with this particular Z

This is all true but I was going built motor in 09. I dont even think many m3's were out then. I mean I started down tge path early so the guy is just blindly hating.

There are a lot of built engines out there man - many sleeved. There have been for years. We had rods in stock the day the mfgrs released them and have sold many sets. Most of our clients don't even post on the internet....and they have builds that would make your head explode. None of this takes away from your accomplishments - but sometimes people don't realize how many badass mofos are out there with built BMWs!

I think I'm more excited to see Honda back with McLaren than anything else. Brings back memories of Senna. Only way it makes sense for BMW to come back is as a showcase of their turbo technology. But they'd need to be installed in the heaviest chassis on the grid to have any relevance with their production cars. ;)

No. BMW was firm on their decision. At least not until the i3 is finished, we probably will not see BMW in the sport as a supplier nor as a team.

I think some bets may be being re-evaluated...
